The Ascalon Foothills slopes up to the west to meet the cold sides of the Shiverpeaks. It is a small area populated by elementals and hydra, one of the most dangerous foes in the Ascalon region to the ill-prepared.

Getting there
This area is entirely optional with regards to the Prophecies storyline. Completion of the Nolani Academy mission will place characters into the Yak's Bend outpost, skipping this area entirely.
There are two secondary quests in this area that can be done in the same instance: Oswalt's Epitaph and the Missing Artisan.

- Northwest, at the exit into Traveler's Vale.
- Southeast, at the exit into Diessa Lowlands.

- North, along the edge where the terrain turns to snow.
