[edit] Notes
- Cyndr's attacks have a chance to knockdown.
- Pyroclastic Shot is Cyndr's main attack and it cannot be disabled. It also seems to have about half the radar range, so splitting up your party is important.
- Cyndr is immune to all conditions except deep wound, disease, bleeding, and poison while his carapace armor is still intact.
- He uses Flame Burst when someone comes near. This will deal around 450 to 500 damage to a low armored character such as casters.
- Cyndr burrows and pops up at a new location whenever his carapace regenerates. Otherwise, Cyndr is stationary.
[edit] Strategy
- While protected by "Mountain Heart Carapace," Cyndr is immune to all direct attacks and hex spells. This defense can be weakened by dropping powder kegs close to him. Three kegs temporarily take down the armor. Additional blasts deal about 50 points of damage. Life stealing and life transferring, such as Grenth's Balance, can get past his armor.
- Life stealing and poison are good ways to get past Cyndr's armor as well as bleeding which stops health regeneration and without having to blast him with kegs.
- Cyndr has the equivalent of four pips of health regeneration. Failure to do enough consistent damage will result in Cyndr recovering to full health.
- With 2 hero healers, and 1 hero ranger (/w poison arrow, or apply poison) and no melee henchmen, if you spread out, you can simply wand him to death if you flag on solid ground with a hero between each group.
- Make sure to cast Protective Spirit always on the character who is running the kegs.
- He will go down in a matter of seconds with Touch Rangers.
- Bring a Necromancer with Order of the Vampire and a team heavy with physical damage dealers to bypass Cyndr's carapace shell defense. When doing this it is advised to also bring a source of poison to keep Cyndr from regenerating.
- Bring 8 players and have each of them carry a keg. First drop 3 kegs for Carapace loss. After that, drop all the other kegs. Normally, he will be dead by then. If not, the party can easily deal the final amounts of damage needed for the kill.
[edit] Trivia
- There is also another boss on the surface on the Shiverpeak Mountains called Maw the Mountain Heart. The title suffix is perhaps indicative of size or might.
