In gw2 there should be a form of smithy where you can make, or order custom weapons. You should be able to walk up to a smithy and start a trade with him or her. If it was a sword, throughout the game you should unlock different hilt designs, blade styles, and "Tattoos" or designs in the blade. this would keep people from all having the same weapon, it would be more realistic if the weapons were customizable.
