Spoiler alert: The following text contains spoilers relating to the story of Prophecies.
Mragga is a powerful demon who feeds upon the power of others. Many years ago it consumed Agostin, a fabled warrior of Ascalon's Chosen, and cast a spell upon his daughter Vanyi, forcing her to scout out and deliver potential victims into the demon's ambushes. Mragga gains its strength from those it absorbs, so it prefers to prey upon powerful heroes to increase its own powers.
In The Hero's Challenge quest, Mragga assumes the guise of Sanyi and, claiming to be Vanyi's sister, leads unsuspecting heroes into a remote part of the Frozen Forest before transforming back into its original form and attacking them.

- Although it has the greenish appearance of a Spirit or a Ghost, it is actually a Demon. Spells that destroy spirits will not instantly kill Mragga.
