Order of damage modifiers

Whenever a character deals damage to another character, various things such as armor, skill effects, and damage reduction can change the amount of damage that would be dealt. Things that modify damage happen in the following order, from top to bottom:
- Life Steal/Life Loss *
- Base weapon damage
- Linear elemental damage buffs
- Group
- Flurry
- Dual Shot (assumed)
- Triple Shot (assumed)
- Armor
- Attack Skill Damage and linear nonelemental damage buffs
- Group
- Vow of Strength
- "By Ural's Hammer!" (assumed)
- Intensity (assumed)
- Aura of Holy Might (assumed)
- Group
- Xinrae's Weapon
- Defy Pain
- Shield Inscriptions
- Dark Escape
- Reverse Hex
- Shelter
- Protective Bond
- Group (In order of application)
- "They're on Fire!"
- Group
- Mantra of Flame
- Mantra of Frost (assumed)
- Mantra of Lightning (assumed)
- Mantra of Earth (assumed)

- Life steal and life loss happen before all other damage (such as on a vampiric weapon), but never get modified by anything on this list.
- Entries with (assumed) indicate that they have not actually been tested, but that other nearly identical skills performed as such.
