This article is about servers within the context of Guild Wars. For general information about servers, see Wikipedia's server article.
Guild Wars is hosted on distributed servers. All the characters of a given district or instance are on the same server, but a server may host multiple districts or instances. These instances may be dynamically transferred to other servers depending on server load and connectivity.
The Friends List uses separate, dedicated servers.
Territories are also sometimes erroneously referred to as servers.
