Skill type. A signet is a type of skill which has no energy or adrenaline cost, but comes with a high recharge or activation time or requires that certain conditions be met. Since they can be used when low on energy or adrenaline, they are a useful energy management tool.

- Elementalists are the only profession without any signets.
- Some signets with an activation time of less than 2 seconds cannot be canceled by moving after the skill begins warming up; however, you can still cancel them using the keyboard (default key: [Esc]).
- Almost every zero-cost skill in the game is a signet, unless they have a specialized use.
- There are mission-specific zero cost skills (e.g. Celestial skills).
- Several non-signet mini-game and NPC-specific skills are zero-cost.
- Even Ritual Lord requires a health sacrifice instead of an energy cost.
