When is it?

Maybe instead of saying it first opened for the dragon festival, just list all the known events which open the boardwalk. 58.110.137.152 13:56, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Done. Added the festivals, approx. dates, and links. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 04:35, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

How many times has it been open?

I was looking for a way to figure out how many times the boardwalk has been open, but I keep getting different answers. Can anybody please tell me how many times it has been open and/or what events cause the boardwalk to open up? 97.86.173.175 21:41, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

It's now open 3 times a year, i.e. "Canthan New Year (beginning of February), Dragon Festival (beginning of July), and for the Birthday Celebration (end of April)". -- Alaris_sig Alaris 22:48, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

When is this likely to open again?

I'm at 99% for Cantha Cartographer Title and this is a massive chunk that I need, so does anyone have any clue???--madhattermain 19:58, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

January 26, more or less... It should be open for the Chinese New Year. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 20:06, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
You mean Canthan New Year. ;) --mira castillo 20:10, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Excellent thanks you --madhattermain 12:05, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

HoS bug

The heart of shadows bug... can it be used elsewhere? In theory, if that works here, it could be used anywhere to explore inaccessible but nearby areas and thus boost the carto titles. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 17:18, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

I have been trying in several towns. Each time I get to a new outpost on my Beastmaster (whom is going for Cartographer), I give HoS a whirl. In most towns, it amounts to nothing, as you get the "End of the World" zone thing. :) -- Quiesce 00:57, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
You might still uncover some fog, even if it doesn't show. Look for progress on the carto bar rather than on the map itself. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 03:08, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Its not that, its just, the "world" ends and you see the terrain/everything cut off into nothingness, as that's all the more map that is loaded into that explorable area--and in some places, you can't go up and down stairs all the way. So far, the best location (as already discovered) Eredon Terrace's explorable mountain range. Was very exciting to explore that! -- Quiesce 03:32, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for info. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 14:40, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

About HoS bug, where is the very best spot on the map to use this trick in Linnok Courtyard ?? --Donahu 02:12, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

The very best method of use for this skill is to very carefully: get as close to the zone's warp point as you can, and then use HoS/Viper's Defense until you "pop" into where ever it is you want to get into. It takes patience and luck. So; in the case of getting into Shing Jea's explorable area, you must get on the edge of the zone where you would normally be taken back into the town, and use the skills until you successfully Shadowstep into the town. :) -- Quiesce 06:01, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your answer, I see now how to try it :> I ll ask a pal to come with me to inscrease chances to do this trick --Donahu 20:50, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
loooool it works!!! i managed to get grandmaster carto before the boardwalk event. btw i did not find the bug, but you dudes up here ^^ :) Check the pic: http://imageposter.com/uploads/get/587140 --|pixy| 10:46, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
So does the HoS bug still work with the changes to the skill?Haru 22:49, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
I *just* tested it, and yes it still does work after the changes to Heart of Shadow and Viper's Defense. (Make sure you don't have any other allies selected or else you shadow step in relation to their placement.)--Quiesce 00:45, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Miniatures

Is it worth noting somewhere (not necessarily on this page, but I don't know where else) that miniatures get stuck on the gate when you go into the Boardwalk area via the Monastery Keeper? 67.240.83.137 20:25, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Just noticed the same thing myself. A few were stuck there when I went through the gate including mine. I just put it away once on the boardwalk side and then took it out again. I just thought of that scene from Terminator 2 when the T-1000 is chasing Sarah through the mental institution and he passes through the one gate but the gun in his hand gets stuck behind the gate. ;) Sardaukar 12:15, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Total hours in a year

Does anyone know exactly how many hours the boardwalk was available in 2009?Vidal 09:40, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

If it's true that the boardwalk is open until noon (PST) on the day after an event, then it was open for 336 hours in 2009. Manassas Ritualist-tango-icon-20.png 14:02, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
And unfortunately it wasn't true, which means we're down to 276 hours. --Manassas Ritualist-tango-icon-20.png 09:58, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
I haven't taken a look at this in a while. Thanks for checking on thatVidal 07:22, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Should we have detailed descriptions of things that are no longer possible?

I think not. In my opinion just mentioning it is enough, so I stongly advocate that the details about the exploit should go. We could clutter page after page with this kind of useless information. But what do the rest of you think? I don't want to start a revert war, so for now I'll just rephrase the description to at least be in past sense. --Manassas Ritualist-tango-icon-20.png 08:42, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Heart of Shadow still works

Just did it a few minutes ago with no problem. 213.240.180.240 16:48, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, but that is probably because the Boardwalk is open. It you can do it again when it closes, we can change the text. --Manassas Ritualist-tango-icon-20.png 10:54, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, i think the map of the Linnok Courtyard is the same as always, but i will test it as soon as the Boardwalk closes. 213.240.180.240 16:10, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Now the Boardwalk is closed an it still works with no problem 213.240.180.240 20:14, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Nice ... great finding --Manassas Ritualist-tango-icon-20.png 14:33, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Xunlai Storage

Should it be noted that even though there is no storage within the Boardwalk if you access your chest and leave the panel open when entering you can still access it (advantages being that you don't have to keep leaving the boardwalk to free up space in your inventory or to get cash for more tickets)`Dakota 21:19, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I personally think that that's a bit too trivial. -- My Talk Lacky 06:06, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

False info in notes

The Boardwalk closes the day after an event ends, at 12PM PST at which point players are sent back to the Monastery. - Nope ... it closes the very second the event ends. Removing false info. --Manassas Ritualist-tango-icon-20.png 20:18, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

bug?

event stuff whent down, all the boardwalk stuff disappeared, but could (can right now) still go back there, and play the event if you know where to stand....was it supposed to be that way or is it a bug?...i mean im fine if its going to stay open cough cough, just saying i dont think its supposed toAurenX 07:35, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
