The Scribe is a periodical article that was published weekly on the official Guild Wars website. Written by Andrew Patrick (ArenaNet community relations coordinator) from the perspective of a traveling monastery scribe, the articles ranged from news about the Alliance Battles to stories about guilds upcoming events, updates, features, a few kudos to individual characters that were noted as being particularly helpful to others.

The scribe has been inactive since November 20, 2007, but all articles are still available on the official Guild Wars website. According to Regina Buenaobra (16 May 2008 entry), ArenaNet has no plans to reactivate him.
