[edit] Gods & Professions

moved from ArenaNet:Guild Wars 2 suggestions

Some suggestions.

Dear Gods... But which one?

1. Guilds having patron gods (and the ability to change guild names etc would be appreciated, for a discouraging but affordable cost of course).

2. Players having changeable patron gods.

3. Gods provide certain characteristic blessings to their followers. Skills and weapons, mostly. But armor too.

4. PvP fights in the name of gods. Much in AB style, either only 2 follower-groups at once or representatives of all gods at once in one fight.. Would be heck of a hilarious gangbang of stupid fanatics. And nothing forbids two groups of Grenth cultists fighting eachother.

5. "Fanatic" titles depending on loyalty to a god, awarded by quests and fighting, able only to followers of that god.

Professions... Racism...

1. Non-warrior/paragon borrowed caster weapons. Elementalists could get stuff like elemental swords, necros get cold damage/life stealing weapons.. Monk weapons smite, mesmer weapons cause missing or something. Just to bring forth the thought.

2. Secondary professions syncing more with eachother. Say, if someone is a W/N he would get an unique set of skills meant for W/N's only (in addition to the Warrior and Necro ones), that would be alot like Barbs, Mark of Pain, Weaken Armor, Weaken Knees, Defile Defenses etc.. And of course, with fast casting times suitable for a warrior.

3. If a caster does stuff like become /W and wants to play as frontliner they would either have more defensive skills for it or would get an armor buff (but lowered efficiency on general casting/energy).

4. Certain professions could be limited to certain races, which would be slightly stupid but hey, everyone would laugh at an Asuran warrior. If not then each race could have their own buffs to certain stuff, without giving any real edge over others that would discourage others to pick, eg a charr tank over an asuran tank.

5. A really essential thing would be that similar skills could be customized to races. Say, an Asuran Mage is better at casting Fire Storm than a Norn would be (Never heard of a Norn Mage anyways).

Other..

1. Extra inventory space for armor swaps, can be limited if so is necessary.

2. Sharp weapons get 10% chance to inflict bleeding or something (this is realistic but not that necessary in my opinion, Sever Artery is fine).

3. Riots and fighting in the streets would be ftw.. Some publicity to cults fighting for their gods?

4. Gambling, nuff said.

5. Public duels, people can throw tomatoes at them or see how leet/bad they are.

6. Areas that can't be soloed with stuff like heroes and need really good human parties with good co-operation.

7. Armor sets being more varying and more easy to combine.

8. No such trash as permasins would be kthx.. Warrior tanks + non-npc monks are what we want.

9. No high level solo farming=higher item prices=some taste in the game.

10. Larger selection of skills, perhaps self-designable within reasonable limits.. Using a system similar to attribute points.

Why Gods & Profession ideas would work

It gives people dreaming of Paladins or Dark Knights or Battle Priests exactly what they want. I'd love it.

It would also bring mythology closer to the game and fights for gods would be friggin' leet. It would encourage people to sink into the PvE world with more feeling.

Why it wouldn't work

It screws a little with the current skill system.

Gods have left the world. Well, they come on wintersday.

Enjoy, please discuss and comment. --Chaos Messenger 02:21, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
