About Me edit
Hello My name is David Walker. I'm 23 year old avid gamer from Bristol, UK. I graduated in 2007 with a 2.1 Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Exeter University. I work as a Software Engineer for a small Engineering company based just North of Bristol. I also do a fair amount of self-employed part time work designing various websites for local people and groups. My main hobby, other than playing computer games, is amateur theatre. I became interested in the theatre since the age of 14 since my school, at that time, had a fully professional working theatre. They allowed the pupils to be involved and help out on productions. I became very interested in all aspects theatre. Since that age I have worked in a number of theatres designing and operating lighting and sound, running box offices, working theatre bars, leading the stage management team as stage manager and many other things. At the age of 15 I also joined two local acting groups; NYTC, the local youth theatre group and TMTG the local adult group. These days I am now the sound engineer for the youth group and on the executive committee of the adult group. I still regularly perform in the adult group and recently I have had some fairly large roles. Contact Me edit

Guild Wars edit
I have been playing Guild Wars for over two years now and have loved every minute of it. [edit] PropheciesDuring the first year of university I was playing Counter-Strike and was in a fairly good and active clan. I was, at the time, interested in MMOs but being a student I couldn't really afford a monthly fee. One or two clan mates then, around January 2006 time encouraged us to play Guild Wars. I bought the game. Started playing and absolutely loved pre-searing. My guild/clan mates were further into the game and so for the first months I played by myself but still loved it. I started of with a ranger and got fairly bored with it, so I re-rolled to a necro-ranger who wielded a bow (how I laugh at how nooby I was). Eventually I got the searing and began playing in post-Searing. At first this was ok, but after a while I found it very difficult to progress. I didn't have a decent skill set and I don't think I was really a high enough level. Also at this point I didn't fully understand the game, e.g. synergies, mods, etc. etc. One guild mate was kind enough to run me to Lion's Arch, but still that didn't help very much. After finding it difficult to progress I stopped playing Guild Wars for a while. This is one thing I absolutely love about Guild Wars, because there is no monthly fee you don't feel tied to the game. You don't feel you have to play it. I feel I can pick it up playing loads and loads, then happily leave it for three months. I find I always come back to playing though. After a couple of months my Counter-Strike clanmates were getting into it again. We decided we would play through from the Northern Shiverpeaks together. This is when I really started to appreciate how fun the game could be. Playing by yourself was fun but quite often I came up against a wall and couldn't get passed a mission which made it boring. Playing with my clanmates, using Teamspeak made it so much more enjoyable, we could try missions over and over and it wouldn't get boring. We got up to the Desert and then my guildies started to stop playing again. I continued as best I could and got up to the Fire Islands before I got bored again. All this time I had only ever played my Necromancer, my second ever character, the one I had played from the start: Devil Rave. [edit] Factions[edit] Nightfall[edit] Eye of the North[edit] Beyond |
