green corner thing on feedback

Did you finish the better version of the green corner image on feedback pages? -- pling User Pling sig.png 20:53, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

I seriously don't know where that file disappeared to (it was on my desktop before).. I'll go look for it when I have the time (and when you remember me again *cough*). poke | talk 00:57, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Chrome revisited

GWWT is currently refusing to load on the first pageload when navigating. It takes 1-3 refreshes to get it to show up, and it still tends to freak out when I'm trying to tag things. I've been scrounging for javascript errors, but none have shown up. Its just.....gone. Any ideas? --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 01:46, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

:/ I'll go install Chrome soon to check what's happening there.. poke | talk 12:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. I'll keep prowling to see if I can find anything. :\ --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 18:24, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

I am interested in knowing as to why you reverted my edit, when in the majority of the other elections, even if a BCrat retained their seat, it still said they had been elected, not retained their seat. -- My Talk Lacky 06:29, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Because even if others didn't do it, it is still correct and more precise. There is no need to (try to) add consistency to something where consistency is clearly not needed but where a simple different statement brings in a lot more information. poke | talk 07:32, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for clarifying that up. -- My Talk Lacky 09:29, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Twitter feed

The tweet for Nick came through a bit garbled today. Is that automated or pulled from the wiki somewhere? -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 19:55, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

The information is read from Nicholas the Traveler/Research; I'll update the code later to not break like that again. Thanks for the notice! :) poke | talk 20:01, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Sorry

Didn't mean to remind you to break the wiki again. You'd think there would be a fix for that by now.--Pyron Sy 00:10, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

No problem :) I was finished with my watchlist anyway, so it wasn't a problem for me :P poke | talk 12:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

u r funny gai. -Auron 20:56, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
Why was it actually removed? I found the lists useful, seeing as I wouldn't have to go and count them myself.-- pling User Pling sig.png 21:03, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
Because constant vote updates are useless and spammy. -Auron 21:05, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Out of interest, would it be possible to knock up some quick code to count the number of entries and ignore any starting with <s>? Then we could chuck that template somewhere. It would have to be double checked for the final count (some people add #... to the end after votes, some do not), but would give a nice rough estimate. Misery 21:15, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Wikichu used to post them on Twitter, but he stopped (I think). I'd prefer something on wiki though if he recontinues. Also, Auron, my finding it useful kinda puts a damper on your claim it's useless. -- pling User Pling sig.png 21:19, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
There is no actual benefit of a pre-stage-4 vote tally. Therefore, it is useless to the wiki. On top of it being useless to the wiki, it is spamming the talk page with unnecessary crap. Your idle curiosity doesn't make something less useless. -Auron 21:39, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
By definition, something that is being used is useful. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 21:52, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
I used your mom last night; that doesn't make her useful. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png{{Bacon}} 21:54, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
I rather think it does. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 22:18, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
"but he stopped (I think)" – I just didn't enable it this time..
"Removing comments from talk pages is a violation [...]" – By definition I would say that a simple statistics with no real personal text is not a comment...
And I think those lists are completely useless if not bad. The only thing they might lead to would be influencing people to change their opinion so a specific result is achieved. And really all they do on the wiki is spamming and cluttering pages. poke | talk 00:32, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Btw. is that request for reconfirmation a joke? If you didn't get it, I did that as a user, based on my opinion that these lists shouldn't be there, and based on previous discussion and comments on the topic. In no way was this related to any sysop-like actions; and as everywhere you are free to revert if you disagree, or even better try to convince me (and others) to keep such statistics around. poke | talk 00:35, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
I think the reconfirmation request is ridiculous, but I pinged Aiiane about it anyway because it's what's supposed to happen. About time you get your spotless 3 year record besmirched. :) —Tanaric 17:17, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
When Poke loses his rights, someone needs to make sure Wikichu is desysopped too, otherwise there's no knowing what havoc Poke-chu will cause. -- pling User Pling sig.png 17:23, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
We should clearly give him a vasectomy too, so that he can't spawn children to carry out his revenge. —Tanaric 17:29, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
That was the first thing I read when I got on wiki today, Tanaric. WHYYYY. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png{{Bacon}} 17:34, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

So we are going to feed the troll by going on with a ridiculous reconfirmation instead of nipping the problem in the bud by reverting the troll reconfirmation request and ban the troll? Allowing his joke bcrat nomination pop out cycle after cycle just made him bold enough to do this, and we are just going repeat the same mistake by keeping this around? Kay. I daresay one of the most important roles a sysop needs be to good at on this wiki is to be able to deal with trolls, especially with the influx of a substantial number of PvX community contributors. I see that setting a poor precedence is how GWW deals with it. Pika Fan 00:33, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Please read GWW:NPA and refrain from personal attacks Pika Fan. Thank you. Loves to Sync 13:50, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Unsigned bot

Flame freely if this was discussed in the past :P
Could we, by any change, have a bot to automaticly mark the unsigned comments? It's always so nice to see these IP SF QQ'ers and other flamers when the skill or other big updates come out. It so awesome to go through the comments and mark them yourself :P Or is it possible to program Wikichu to do this? - J.P.User J.P. sigicon.pngTalk 11:45, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

I think this has been discussed before, and the consensus was "No". It has something to do with the difficulty of setting something like that up, or the RC spam or something like that. Don't really remember. - Mini Me talk 12:56, 21 February 2010
One discussion about this, can be found here, but there are some other places too I think. poke | talk 16:02, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Reconfirmation

Hi Poke;

Since it has been more than a year since your RfA, according to policy the margin for reconfirmation requests has dropped to one. Thus, I'm required to request that you either start a reconfirmation for yourself, or I'll start one for you (due to this request) within 2 weeks. Sorry for the hassle. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 23:18, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

No problem Aiiane, it's not your fault after all... <_< Though, I would like to wait until the election is over, before I start the RfA, if that is not a problem for you. poke | talk 23:56, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Oh come on. It's Loves to Sync. You can safely ignore him. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 00:11, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
I don't see a problem with that, poke. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 03:08, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
