Samurai class: (Discussion)

A samurai class can use long samurai sword (two handed) and he may also carry a katana on one hand and the shorter sword on the other hand (duel wield). He should behave as a quick damage dealer and rely heavily on stances and Skills (stances are the three stances of the samurai swordsman). Depending on what kind of stances he's currently using, he can chain his powerful sword attacks much like the assassin does. He may also make use of Shouts (BattleCry)to self-bull (not allies). Samurai can not equip shields nor focuses.

Attributes:

Discipline(class): with highier rank in Discipline, Stances last longer and become more effective and cost less enery to use. You gain energies while successfully chain sword attacks. 1 energy gain per every 1 ranks of Discipline.

Swordsmanship: Increases chance to inflict critical hits and speed of swords attacks also increases with each rank of Swordsmanship.

Technique: Increases chance to evade and parry attacks while holding swords. Movement speed, knockdown and Defensive skills become more effective with higher ranks in Technique.

Battlecry: Rage or Adrenalin increases more rapidly with highier ranks in BattleCry. Skills associated with Buffing become more effective.

Armor: 75 HP: 500 Energy: 30

Why is this class a good idea
  • Since we have an assassin from Cantha, why not also have a samurai as one of the elite guards. A samuria class can be a choice between a War and an Assassin.
Why it won't work
  • I don't see why we shouldn't have a samurai who originates from Cantha.
  • "Somehow" resembles a warrior, but the technique attribute and the 3 main stances thing (that I think is a great idea 4 different battle styles), make it a lot different. I suggest making some attacks based on 1 of the stances (I think you already said that though), or make some chains based on them.
  • Well based on what I know about samurai and their culture, if the party leader died the samurai would instantly impale themselves on their own swords.
