ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Gender Changer

Hairdresser sounds pretty good, its like in real life. we go to the hairdresser once in a while. But the gender change sounds so...soo, different. I dont think it really fits into the game, its not a future based where you can do everything. If you want to look different, buy a new armor and wep set! :P But hairdresser sounds good, and it would be cool if you eat alot of consumables you get little fatter, but it wears off if you dont eat for a time lul. I like the idea of hairdressers but as long as its a fully fledged feature. As in over time your hair grows. You can pay a hairdresser to cut or even dye/bleech your hair. Over time obviously the dye/bleech wears out or grows out, depending on how good the dye was. Since paying the hairdresser would be a gold sink to counterbalance it "hair" could be a crafting material.
As for gender changer I think its also a good idea, these days, in the real world more people are doing it and I don't see a problem with a game reflecting that.- TheRave User TheRave sig.jpg 17:05, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, GW2 isnt really taking place in 19 centhury, then we could have machineguns too. And for very rich ppl, nuclear bombs. I think the hair thing goes little too far if it growvs and you need to re-dye it. I think Anet have more important things to do.(not saying hairdresser is bad^^) Goody 17:53, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't have to be anything to do with 19th, 20th or 21st century, GW1 has had bits of magic and technology that far surpasses our, 21st century technology. My main point was, it would be better to implement it fully and properly than have a half-hearted implementation.- TheRave User TheRave sig.jpg 18:17, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

moved from artcile

Ok, now i know that at the begginging of your game, when making a character, you try to make your character look as good, or as bad, as possible, depending on which way you look at it. Now i know that in my experience, and possibly others, that your opinions change, and over time, your 'amazing' looking character suddenly doesnt look so good. So here is where my idea comes in.

Condensed artilce, and removed parts relating to hairdresser. You can find information about that idea here. Add to it if you have a different approach to that idea. (Terra Xin 13:51, 24 July 2008 (UTC))

Changing genders is just too extreme - if you want a different gender character, create a new one.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.226.186.199 (talk).

If its not extreme in RL then why would it be too extreme in a fantasy world?- TheRave User TheRave sig.jpg 18:04, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Its kinda extreme, how many people in RL really change gender. And as 72.226.186.199 said you can just create a new one. It might not be fun, but more realistic. We wouldnt even need Character creator screen if you can change your character so much. It skips all the fun to test what looks good and what not. Goody 20:42, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

I can't tell, is Goody joking? 72.78.37.8 16:50, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

well if players can just change gender whenever they want to the game would become a bit boring cause players will be changing every time and that could become annoying in a WvW(world vs world) they see that the other type of gender is winning so they change to them and fight along with them instead of thinking this is my best character i can't do anything else then fight back so im gonna try to fight and make a group to recapture stuff--Heartkiller 12:57, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't think you would have the genders fighting against each other. So being able to change gender wouldn't make any difference. It would be like having armor that looks different but is exactly the same, doesn't effect anything.- TheRave User TheRave sig.jpg (talk) 11:12, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

lol sry i though gender was something like race btw that's my post dint had an account when i posted it --Heartkiller 12:53, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
