Ascalonian Refugees are NPCs that provides the Vanguard Patrol blessing. When first talked to, with at least 25 kills, you receive a bonus. When awarded bonus reputation points, the bonus is greater with more kills.

While not under Vanguard Patrol:

 Accept: "For Ascalon!"

 Decline: "Not right now."

 Ask: "Ascalon isn't lost forever. She's still waiting for us. We just have to find the way home. Maybe we need more heroes."

Under Vanguard Patrol, less than 25 kills:

"Hmm. (0..24) kills? Come back when you've got a few more."

Under Vanguard Patrol, more than 175 kills:

"I bet one of those scouts five gold that you'd get to X kills, and you did! I don't know what i will spend it on. Food. Maybe new shoes.

Under Vanguard Patrol, after being rewarded:

"Ascalon isn't lost forever. She's still waiting for us. We just have to find the way home. Maybe we need more heroes."

After reaching Ebon Vanguard rank 1, before receiving Rebel Yell:

"Tales of your heroics are spreading. I have heard that Gedrel of Ascalon [Vanguard Herald] in the Eye of the North wishes to discuss your exploits."

After reaching Ebon Vanguard rank 10:

"With heroes like you on our side, Ascalon will never truly be lost. Thank you for showing me that bravery still exists in this cold world."

 Accept: "For Ascalon!"

 Decline: "Not right now."

 Ask: "With heroes like you on our side, Ascalon will never truly be lost. Thank you for showing that me sic bravery still exists in this cold world."
