Once freed, Pyre's warband sacked the cathedral, looking for anything of value. In their search, they unearthed a blocked passage. Clearing the debris revealed a stash of treasure plundered from Ascalonian ruins... but there was more. The spirits of those slain for these spoils of war had attached themselves to the treasure, haunting the vaults. Worse yet, a powerful Necromancer named Murakai dwelt amoung them. She used the creatures' unliving essence to create a storm of souls, which she planned to unleash upon human and Charr alike.

[edit] Notes

  • After killing Murakai, Lady of the Night, Murakai's Chest will appear and each player can open it once.
  • 1500 Ebon Vanguard reputation points are awarded for completing this dungeon for the first time in normal mode, and 200 points are awarded for subsequent completions. 2250 Ebon Vanguard reputation points are awarded for completing this dungeon in hard mode for the first time, and 300 points are awarded for subsequent completions.
  • The Bone Fiends, in the last room, and the Servant of Murakai that are summoned in the final battle, while they are stated as summoned, do not count as "summoned creatures".
  • Murukai's Steward in the graveyard room is best handled by pulling him out; trying to attack under the fire of poison arrow turrets could cause unnecessary deaths.
  • Since the majority of the foes you encounter are Undead, skills that deal holy damage are extremely effective in this dungeon.
  • This Dungeon is the most common Dungeon for the 600/smite combination also known as a CoF run because it links directly to Doomlore Shrine.
  • On Level 3, the lava in Murakai's room is shaped as a heart.
  • The Cathedral of Flames is often referred to as CoF.
Bug Bug.
On the first level, The Keeper and his minions are sometimes spawned behind the door to the 2nd level. This makes them hard to kill and impossible if all of your party is using projectile attacks.
Bug Bug.
On the second level, The Master and his minions are sometimes spawned behind the door to the 3rd level. This makes them hard to kill and impossible if all of your party is using projectile attacks.
Bug Bug.
On the third level, the Keymaster of Murakai can drop the dungeon key such that it lands over the edge of the lava stream, making it inaccessible and requiring you to restart the quest.
Bug Bug.
On the third level, It is possible to kill center mob without aggroing them after you unlocked the blue gate.
Bug Bug.
On the third level, just as you enter, if you use the Light of Deldrimor skill on the spot where the hidden chest usually spawns, it may not spawn but say that it was found.
Bug Bug.
On the second level right after beating the first level, some players may automatically die and won't rez and if the whole party dies the party won't rez and will have to go back to Doomlore.
