Consumable
From Guild Wars Wiki
(Redirected from Consumable item)
A consumable is any item that has a specific effect when used. All consumable items require the player to double-click on it for activation. Regular consumables are stackable and disappear after one use. Those with multiple uses are non-stackable, such as kits. There are even items with unlimited uses, such as the everlasting tonics.
Consumables cannot be used in PvP.
[edit] Types
Most consumables can be classified dependant on effect:
- Alcohol - they cause drunkness, which can contribute towards the Drunkard title
- Dye - used to change the color appearance of specific items, normally weapons or armor.
- Festive items - they usually create a visible animation on use and add points towards the Party Animal title.
- Tonics - they change the appearance of the character to a tonic-specific model.
- Kits - they serve different purposes affecting other items, usually identification and salvage.
- Presents - they contain one of several things dependant on consumable, such as items, gold or even skill effects that is chosen at random.
- Scrolls - they create a Party Bonus that increases the experience gained per kill.
- Skill tomes - they can be used to learn unlocked class-specific skills dependant on type.
- Summoning stones - they summon an ally for the party.
- Sweets - they most often cause a speed boost in towns or outposts and add point towards the Sweet Tooth title.

[edit] Trivia
- Identification Kits and Salvage Kits were among the first consumables introduced in the game.
- The term "consumable" found use with the introduction of Consumable item crafters in Eye of the North.
- For that reason, the player term "consumable set" (or "con set" for short) refers to a trio of items offered by those NPCs, namely a Grail of Might, Essence of Celerity, and Armor of Salvation.
