This mixed-profession team focuses on Hexes and Conditions to gradually kill the entire enemy team.

— in-game description

The Degeneration Team is one of the teams that can be found in Zaishen Challenge and Zaishen Elite. This team consists of a Warrior, Ranger, Necromancer, and Mesmer. They will pressure through the use of health degeneration from Hexes and Conditions.

Using the right tactics they can easily be defeated since they each have weak points. Most of the time, one can use skills that grant health regeneration (e.g. Healing Breeze, Troll Unguent and Life Transfer) to offset the gradual health decrease. And for the various conditions caused by this team, combining skills such as Martyr and Draw Conditions with Purge Conditions and Mend Condition can easily take pressure off your team. These two tactics are the easiest ways to win.

Skills[edit]

In fact the Warrior(s) are W/E but they only have one Air Magic skill which is Gale. If this skill is constantly used, it can cause a good deal of overcast.

Their first three skills are powerful but require a large amount of adrenaline so they will not be used in quick succession. Frenzy and Healing Signet will significantly reduce the Warriors defense. If possible, execute a quick chain of attacks during these skills' use.

Therefore, the key to defeating the Warriors is to use attack/spells that cause a lot of damage in a short period of time.

Ranger(s)[edit]

This Ranger has two condition causing skills (Poison and Crippled) and two interrupts. This combination of skills can cause certain pressure to a caster or close-combatant. It is possible for the AI to interrupt attack skills which are the first step of an attack chain, which can prove to be extremely annoying.

To quickly render this Ranger useless, you can use skills like Diversion, Cry of Frustration and Wandering Eye to force this ranger into not using interrupts. You may also defeat the Ranger by inflicting Blind.

Necromancer[edit]

This Necromancer has 14 Blood Magic, 11 in Curses and 6-9 Illusion Magic.

The Necromancer will usually start off by using Shadow Strike and then using her other skills which on their own can cause moderate damage. She will usually spam Life Siphon and Dark Pact due to their short recharge time to heal herself and cause damage. Offering of Blood, Faintheartedness and Distortion are used as energy management and protection through blocking and hindering attack speed.

To get rid of her skills like Backfire, Soul Leech, causing health degeneration using conditions (poison, bleeding, etc.) and interrupts are very efficient. Since she is not a great threat you should leave her last to kill.

Mesmer[edit]

This Mesmer is the most annoying person in this team since he causes a huge amount of health degeneration with his illusion skills. He also forces casters to cast spells 150% slower (a 2 second cast would take 5 seconds) if he casts Arcane Conundrum and Migraine on one target. In addition to his other skills, with his hex and enchantment removal, he is a formidable foe.

Because of this he should be dispatched first by using standard anti-caster skills and causing decent damage but you should not waste your most potent spells and attacks on him since his only form of healing is Drain Enchantment.

Bug Bug.This NPC does not use the PvP versions of skills.
