The weekend event announcements from the login screen and/or official Guild Wars Facebook page. Unless otherwise specified, weekend events begin Fridays at noon Pacific Time (-7 GMT/UTC; 19:00 GMT/UTC) and end Sundays at 11:59 PM (06:59 GMT/UTC on Mondays).
Since 16 April 2010, events have occurred in the same order as in the previous year, i.e. 2010 events have mirrored 2009, and similarly for 2011 events. The only exceptions have been:
- Codex Arena has replaced Hero Battles
- Sweet Treat Weekend (which follows a Lunar calendar)
- Unlike previous Anniversary Celebrations, the Seventh Year Anniversary Celebration spanned over two weekends, so "Eye of the North Reputation Weekend" did not occur (although reputation points were still doubled due to the "weekend event bonus" during the celebration).
- The weekend of 18 May 2012 was "Alliance Battles Bonus Weekend" (the first weekend after an update to Alliance Battles rewards) instead of "Double Luxon and Kurzick title points".
- The weekend of 1 June 2012 was "Alliance Battles Bonus Weekend" instead of "Double Tournament Reward Points".
Weekly bonuses events replaced weekend events in the May 16, 2013 update.

Weekend events[edit]
A weekend event lasts two and a half days and offers a bonus for some specific type of reward (e.g. increased experience or reputation); each type takes place more than once a year (with a single exception).

Special events[edit]
A special event is an in-game festival of an in-game holiday, although they tend to closely follow some real world celebration. They include seasonal items and major events also include a finale.

- Triple key/lockpick drops AND double your luck points — 17 May 2013
- This weekend through Sunday at 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 [sic] GMT), you'll find plenty of keys and lockpicks with the triple drop rate. Plus, you'll get double lucky/unlucky points for using lockpicks on chests!
- Guild Wars Wiki note: This event did not occur since weekly bonuses were implemented before this event began.
- Heroes' Ascent Bonus Weekend — 10 May 2013
- Compete in Heroes' Ascent this weekend to earn double fame and double Balthazar faction, plus double chest loot for victories in the Hall of Heroes. The fun starts at Noon Pacific (-8 [sic] GMT) on Friday, and ends at 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 [sic] GMT) on Sunday.
- Eye of the North Reputation Weekend — 3 May 2013
- Complete quests and defeat foes while under the effect of a shrine bonus this weekend to earn double Asura, Deldrimor, Ebon Vanguard, and Norn reputation points. Points for completed books are unaffected. This boost will last through 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 [sic] GMT) on Sunday.

- Anniversary Celebration — 22 April 2013
- The party is on for the anniversary of Guild Wars! Starting April 22nd at Noon Pacific (-7 GMT), we open Shing Jea Boardwalk, Dragon Arena, and the Rollerbeetle Races. In addition, Birthday Cupcakes and many other special items will drop all throughout this weeklong event. For more information, visit http://www.guildwars.com/.
- Alliance Battles Bonus Weekend — 19 April 2013
- Starting at Noon Pacific this Friday, you will earn double faction for participating in Alliance Battles. This bonus will last through 11:59 PM Pacific on Sunday.
Bug.Neither Balthazar nor Imperial faction in Alliance Battles was doubled.
- Codex Arena Bonus Weekend — 12 April 2013
- Enter the Codex Arena this weekend and earn double Balthazar faction points! You also gain double honor points for consecutive victories! The Codex Arena bonus weekend begins at Noon Pacific (-8 [sic] GMT) on Friday and runs until Sunday at 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 [sic] GMT).
- Arena Bonus Weekend — 5 April 2013
- Starting at Noon (-8 [sic] GMT) Pacific time this Friday, you can earn double faction and double Gladiator Points within Random Arena. [sic] These double rewards extend through Sunday at 11:59 PM (-8 [sic] GMT) Pacific.

- Sweet Treat Weekend — 29 March 2013
- This weekend, from Noon Pacific (-8 [sic] GMT) this Friday until 11:59 PM Pacific on Sunday, you will get a double dose of springtime goodness with random drops of Chocolate Bunnies and Golden Eggs in all of the lands of Tyria.
- Double Sunspear & Lightbringer Points — 22 March 2013
- This weekend, get double Sunspear and Lightbringer points in both Hard mode and regular gameplay. Obtain the bounty from a res shrine NPC and double your reward from Noon Pacific on Friday through 11:59 PM Pacific on Sunday.
- Guild Wars Wiki note: This event also doubles the Sunspear/Lightbringer points awarded for completing a Nightfall Cooperative Mission for the first time (either mode) and for turning in quests.
- GvG Double-Reward Weekend — 15 March 2013
- GvG's the thing this weekend, when you can earn double GvG Faction and Double [sic] Champion Points starting Friday at Noon Pacific (-8 [sic] GMT) through Sunday at 11:59 PM Pacific.
- Special Items This Weekend — 8 March 2013
- Starting at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) this Friday through 11:59 PM Pacific (-7 GMT) on Thursday, March 14, you will be able to gather Shamrock Ale and Four-Leaf Clovers as random drops throughout all the lands of Tyria. Enjoy the weekend, and remember: think green!
- Double faction in competitive missions — 1 March 2013
- Starting at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) this Friday, players who own Factions will receive double Kurzick and Luxon Faction [sic] for competing in the Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood competitive missions. This bonus will last through 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 GMT) on Sunday.
- Guild Wars Wiki note: This announcement was not changed to state that the competitive missions award Imperial faction instead of Kurzick or Luxon faction. This event also awards double Balthazar faction in the Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood.

- Double Luxon and Kurzick title points — 22 February 2013
- Starting at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) this Friday, you will receive double points for exchanging 5,000 faction for Jadeite or Amber, for exchanging 3,000 faction for an alliance skill, and for transferring 5,000 faction to raise your alliance's reputation. This bonus will last through 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 GMT) on Sunday.
- Guild Wars Wiki note: You also receive double title points for exchanging faction for a Passage Scroll to the Deep or Urgoz's Warren. You do not receive double points for turning in copies of Shiro's Return or Young Heroes of Tyria.
- Heroes' Ascent Bonus Weekend — 15 February 2013
- Compete in Heroes' Ascent this weekend to earn double fame and double Balthazar faction, plus double chest loot for victories in the Hall of Heroes. The fun starts at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT) on Friday, and ends at 11:59 PM Pacific (-8 GMT) on Sunday.

- Canthan New Year — 31 January 2013
- On January 31st, at Noon Pacific (-8 GMT), Cantha begins a weeklong celebration with festive item drops and games in Shing Jea Boardwalk. It all culminates on February 6th with a feast for the celestial visitor, every three hours starting at 12:01 AM Pacific. For more information, visit www.guildwars.com.
