Faction farm
From Guild Wars Wiki
Faction farming is a form of farming in which players repeatedly complete certain tasks to gather Faction.
[edit] Farming Faction with the Kurzicks/Luxons
The main purpose of this type of farming is to amass faction with the Kurzicks or Luxons to progress towards the allegiance rank or increase Allegiance skill effectiveness for PvE use. Faction farming is commonly practiced by members of an alliance trying to increase their alliance faction with either nation to gain control of towns.
For each side, there are a few areas that players go to farm faction. These are:
- Alliance battles
- Competitive Missions: Fort Aspenwood and The Jade Quarry.
- Challenge Missions: Altrumm Ruins and Amatz Basin for the Kurzicks. Zos Shivros Channel and The Aurios Mines for the Luxons.
- Killing Level 20+ foes in Echovald Forest and the Jade Sea while under the Blessing of the Kurzicks/Luxons
- Vanquishing areas in the Echovald Forest and the Jade Sea.
- Doing repeatable factions quests. Their equivalent are
[edit] Fast faction farming
The emphasis in FFF is on getting as much faction as possible in as little time as possible to allow for many runs to be done quickly.
There are multiple ways of fast farming, but the fastest methods for the Kurzicks known at this time are:
- The FFF run outside of Altrumm Ruins. This relies on farming the wardens and four closest bosses in Arborstone in Hard mode. On average, it produces 1400 faction in 3 minutes for elite teams.
- Vanquishing Drazach Thicket. A proficient team can net ~17,000 faction in 10-15 mins. One suggested team build is 3x 600 monks, 3x Smite monks, and 2x Ray of Judgment monks.
The fastest Luxon method known at this time is:
- The Jade Arena FFF is done with a party with Recall which will be cast on a runner who will leave Jade Flats instead of the usual solo-able Breaker Hollow starting location. It can be finished under 2 minutes per run by proficient teams. From Breaker Hollow it can be finished in under 3 minutes per run.
Note: Both teams had an FFF/HFFF method of farming, which was done by doing Securing Echovald Forest & Scout the Coast for Kurzick & Luxon Faction respectively. But as of the November 13 2008 update, the requirements for these quests were changed, therefore making the previous methods impossible to use.
[edit] Balthazar faction farming
The main purpose is to unlock weapon upgrades, runes, and skills for PvP use. Other uses include unlocking skills to make them available earlier in PvE through the help of skill trainers or skill tomes and buying Tournament Token(s) to registry in Automated Tournaments.
