Fast Casting is the primary attribute of Mesmers.

- Unlike the primary attributes of other professions (which have simple, linear progressions), the effects of Fast Casting on spells have an exponential progression.
- Experiments have determined that Fast Casting divides casting time of spells by 2^(Fast Casting/15) (or multiplies casting time by roughly 0.955^(Fast Casting)).
- In other words, each rank reduces casting time by approximately 4.73%. Note that this is multiplicative, rather than additive, so with 9 ranks of Fast Casting, casting time is reduced to roughly 66.1% (0.955^9) rather than roughly 57.4% (1 - 9*0.0473).
- Although percentages in the table above are rounded off to integral numbers, the game internally uses full precision for calculating fast casting modifiers and applying them to spell casting times. After the Fast Casting modifier is applied to the spell casting time, the final result is rounded up by the game to the next whole millisecond (thousandth of a second).
