Feedback:User/Mervil/Faction Reward for VQing faction areas

Issue[edit]

Currently, the reward a player receives for vanquishing an area in the Echovald Forest or the Jade Sea is based solely on region—Echovald Forest areas give Kurzick faction and Jade Sea areas give Luxon faction. In addition to the vanquishing reward, a player can gain faction points per kill while under the effects of a blessing obtained from a priest at a rez shrine. However, in contrast to the vanquishing reward, which priest is attending the shrine and therefore the faction earned per kill (Kurzick or Luxon) depends on which faction controls the area (which side of the alliance battle line the rez shrine is on). This makes it possible to earn both types of faction at the same time during a vanquishing run (as in vanquishing a Jade Sea area when controlled by the Kurzick). This is rather counterproductive, as spending one faction immediately eliminates the other faction earned during the run.

Suggestion[edit]

I would like to suggest making the faction reward awarded to players vanquishing Echovald Forest or Jade Sea areas be based on which faction blessing a player has. If a player does not have a blessing, then the faction reward defaults to what region the area is in. As availability of blessings depends on where the alliance battle line is, this would add a fun and exciting twist to AB as well, as now that line across the Canthan map would actually mean something! AB players would be rewarded with something other than a new map, but also the opportunity to vanquish territory of the opposite faction and receive a reward of their own faction.

With this implementation, a player would be able to receive one type of faction reward (either Kurzick or Luxon) for all Echovald Forest AND Jade Sea areas (once the alliance battle line is pushed all the way into either territory) except for Boreas Seabed and Arborstone—Boreas Seabed because no contested outposts have access to the area, and Arborstone because it is only vanquishable from Altrumm Ruins, and not Tanglewood Copse. Therefore, I would also like to suggest that these two areas be made accessible from contested outposts, or that blessings be made available when the alliance battle line is pushed furthest into the opposing territory.
