Surprised it took them that long to fix Nic. 69.230.65.215 00:05, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Keep in mind that the area was hit with a pretty severe snowstorm yesterday. Iced over roads everywhere. I'm surprised anyone made it into the office to fix it.--User Pyron Sy sig.png Pyron Sy 00:23, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Glad I missed that storm in the Watchtower coastal area ;p 66.170.212.17 00:32, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Ok, totally off-topic, but that made me chuckle.--Fighterdoken 01:25, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Seattle: Snow! PANIC! Forget how to drive! 71.146.91.237 04:18, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, they can handle the rain, but, SNOW... OMG.MystiLefemEle 06:12, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Hey, it's hard to drive when it gets to 15 degrees F and that snow turns into really pretty ice. D: At least it's fixed. Elysea User Elysea ElyseaSignatureImage.jpg 08:34, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
In Soviet Canada, we go to the beach at +15F ... silly squishies. Ghosst I Make Dead PeopleTalk

Invalid folder name[edit]

After downloading this update I can no longer run Guild Wars. It pops up a box saying "Error: unable to create folder. Access is denied. (5)" Please help. -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 19:37, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

It would seem like the Guild Wars folder or Program Files folder or something of the sort has been flagged as read-only. --talk Large 19:51, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, you're right. I don't know why though, nothing has changed. I'll just run it as administrator for now until I get it fixed. -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 20:25, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

I've had this problem ever since i reinstalled GW months ago, and i can assure you it has nothing to do with this specific update. Here are 2 ways to fix this:

1. Look into Program Files(x86) and find the Guild Wars folder. Cut and Paste it in the Program Files(NOT x86) folder. Right click on GuildWars and in compatibility, select Run in Windows XP(from what i heard, GW was not made to run in Windows 7, although many have it running fine on the OS). Doing this fixes the problem permanently.

2. Only do this only if you insist on running Guild Wars on Windows 7. When you see a new update available on GW, such as checking wiki and seeing update at the top, or you are already on GW and see "a new build is available", do NOT install it. Instead, go to your computer's UAC(Change User Account Control settings), Move it to "Never Notify"(OFF) option. Restart your computer. Double click on GW and install the new build. Then turn back UAC ON. Alternatively, you will not get this problem if your UAC is always on "Never Notify"(OFF), so you might decide to keep it this way, though your computer is less protected. If you happen to install the new build with the UAC ON, you should Copy Gw.dat to a separate place, uninstall Guild Wars, reinstall GW, then move the GW.dat back to where it was, then do the UAC OFF thing(and restart and back ON). Note that you will have to do this every time a new build is available.

I highly recommend running GW in Windows XP rather than Windows 7(i see no difference in game between the two, except Windows 7 might get this sort of bug). I do not recommend leaving the UAC to "Never Notify"(OFF) permanently. Wtf Srsly Rofl QQ 21:44, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

If this is the case, this should be noted at Running the game#Windows 7. --Silver Edge 23:32, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Actually its been in the 64 bit program files folder the whole time. I made no changes and it now works just fine after today's second update. -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 02:30, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
The easiest way to fix this is to run Guild Wars from c:\GW (or c:\Guild Wars). Seriously. You can cut/paste the folder from Program Files right into the root of your drive; the GW client is programmed well enough to figure out its new location and run just fine. No more read-only errors. If you're using the bonus music from Directsong, though, you'll need to fix the Directsong registry entry after moving the folder. --User mrsmiles tinysmile.png MrSmiles 15:13, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
My only issue here was that my antivirus was blocking it completely so i had to shut it down ... and all of it's sub-programs to install then run it again ... Sneaker 10:01, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Code=13[edit]

Happens when you try to map travel. Many guildies have experienced the same. And the game ask me for a confirm before i can try to travel. It says i'm in a mission, with a party, when i'm in LA, alone :S - J.P.User J.P. sigicon.pngTalk 22:19, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

I was in DoA when I got kicked off of Guild Wars. Now I can't log back in since it gives me this Code=013 error, it's been happening for the past 20 minutes now. Ayako 22:26, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Happened to me on three, then two and finally (and still) one account. On log-in. Every time. 88.153.105.75 22:40, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Win for not being a whiney little brat tho... Ghosst I Make Dead PeopleTalk
This is the internet, you don't get wins for not being a brat, not being a brat means you're not trolling. If your not trolling it means you are being trolled. If you are being trolled you did not win, ever. 82.169.222.223 22:22, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
ahh, /b/ wannabes. So cute. Ghosst I Make Dead PeopleTalk
Hardly, I would have posted tits if that were the case. People like you always pop up everywhere though. You are like jehovah's witnesses: Annoyingly self righteous to a point where I woud call it "denying reality", yet ultimately always wrong... 79.203.111.228 14:04, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
That was almost funny, how you wove complete nonesense into that. But seriously, I can't watch the tantrums anymore. Feel free to scream and cry about an update that didn't happen on a page none of the staff read through. Owait, that would be you, acting exactly like what you just described! Thanks for sharing your religion BTW. Ghosst I Make Dead PeopleTalk
Yes yes, whatever you say dear, problem is everything you say is being said by a fanboi (IE biased). If you are not a fanboi I do not know why you would spend nearly 8 hours a day on GW. 79.203.68.218 07:27, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
