Probably a bug fix. I was in American District 2 on Dwayna rings and I did not get Wintergreen weapon or any Wintersday gifts. My 50 Candy Cane Shards were still in inventory. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.74.232.96 (talk) at 19:30, 1 January 2014 (UTC).

I'm thinking bug fix also. Had two accounts together in the same district for a few events, one only got half the gifts of the other. -- Azell talk 22:47, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
After the first finale (i.e. 08:01 1 January UTC), an alliance member said in my alliance chat that a "dev" was using teal colour text in the chat window (probably was a game master) to tell him and others in Lion's Arch districts America 1 and 2 to leave those districts. This update occurred shortly afterwards before the second finale. Also after the update, Rift Warden began appearing in the international district of Lion's Arch again. --Silver Edge 22:57, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I agree. The holiday NPCs (not just the Rift Warden) had been gone for some time in some districts (I remember one of my ally mates commenting on this fact beforehand) before the finales were scheduled to occur. I was in Int for the first finale, with missing NPCs, and when I noticed nothing happening, I quickly skedaddled to Asia, where everything was proceeding normally. When I woke up just before finale #3 and reloaded the game, the NPCs were back in Int, which I did not notice any further problems with. Speaking of missing NPCs, the shards->gifts collector was gone as soon as the event ended in LA and EotN, as far as I can tell, though I was able to find one remaining in Droks, and one of my ally mates saw him in (I think) Kama. (Added: Whoops, after reading his wiki page, I gather that's supposed to happen. Not sure why I could have sworn I'd seen him in EotN during the event.) 67.246.60.56 07:02, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

December 31st 2013 - January 1st 2014[edit]

moved from Feedback talk:Game updates

There was a new build available and I wish I had taken a screenshot of one of my observed differences. Prior to this update but after the servers were taken offline due to a DDoS attack earlier on the 31st of December 2013, items customized to characters who had their name changed would find their new character name as the character the item was customized for, rather than the original character name (whether the continuation of the old name for customization is intended or not is beyond my knowledge, but my main character is and has always been proof of this behaviour). In other words, instead of "Customized for Original Character Name" the customization would read "Customized for New Character Name" for any newly customized items in that very limited time span. After the new build had patched into my client, though, the customization displayed my initial character's name as if nothing ever changed. Is that in any way worth mentioning anywhere or can anyone else confirm this (in 2014, I'm not very optimistic)? - Infinite - talk 14:01, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

On a similar note, any idea what the update was, or how to find out? Ailina (talk) 16:04, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
no idea. I don't even know if the date is right for this page Feedback:Game updates/20140101. ;) -Chieftain Alex 16:24, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
I don't think there was an update. I think it was due to some DDOS (though stupid that was). I witnessed two disconnects. I feel the first was the hack and we were reconnected to an older server, then a reboot of the active server is probably how/why we were switched back. I feel this is what happened as I find nothing of any update on the facebook page, forum, and twitter page. Rodan (talk) 18:48, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
It definitely was an update 36,399 -> 36,400 (General tab in Options). But noting was posted on support forum, Twitter or Facebook. Maybe after the New Year festivities? :-) --46.138.245.158 12:38, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
Yes, there was an update. I was logged in the game when it occurred, i.e. myself and my guild and alliance members (via guild and alliance chat) were getting the message that appears in the chat window telling you to log out to download the new game build. The update occurred after the first Wintersday finale and before the second finale. Also, see what I posted in my comment above. --Silver Edge 22:55, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
Confirmed. We did need to run a build on January 1st to unstick some NPCs who despawned improperly. ~ Matthew Moore (talk) 01:49, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
