I like your suggestion. However, I wouldn't allow gold to be a reward. Yes, you are correct in your assessment that - if the reward is small enough - it will discourage anyone from wanting to endure the tedium of farming revives for gold; anyone except a bot that is. The moment you create any situation that is repeatable with very simple parameters and then attach gold to it, someone, somewhere will create a script/bot to exploit it.

The same could be said of only limiting the reward to karma; now the karma could be farmed. But I imagine that will have less marketable/exploitable benefit to a potential bot farmer than gold. Would be kind of funny though seeing 10 bots sitting on the sidelines of every battle suddenly rushing in as a revival mob every time someone is downed.

Perhaps there is some other reward that could be offered that confers a (balanced) in-game benefit but is not tradeable, marketable, sellable, etc. Maybe do this instead: reviving others confers the benefit of reducing the amount of time it takes for you to be revived whenever you enter a downed state. As I understand it, the more times you are downed the longer it takes for you to be revived by other players. Reviving others would reward you with a reduction in this extended time-to-revival penalty. This way players receive a reward and encouragement for reviving their fellow players but it isn't a reward that anyone would be interested in farming/exploiting because there's no monetary gain or gain that contributes in any significant way to increasing the power of your character. That's a good point. Because if your time to be rezzed decreases, then the person who you rezzed (who does not gain these benefits) will want to rez some one who is downed, to counter act their own penalty. Darkshine 21:19, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
Well put, GW3. Either way, Gold, Karma, or a time bonus, its a pretty good idea.--Will Greyhawk 02:09, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
Well what if there's a time-based limit on the reward... like you can only gain the Karma bonus (maybe it doesn't have to be tiny) every 5 minutes, etc, as a form of anti-farming. Even if you get a res time bonus by res'ing others, if enough people (not in your group) went running by and gave you free res's, you could still abuse the bonus. ~~ User Kiomadoushi sig.png Kiomadoushi 02:08, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

How about instead of a reward it can affect your personality: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Personality Greep 23:27, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
