Ferry

A Ferry is a character that has access to a zone or outpost other players may otherwise be unable to reach, but by forming a party, the Ferry can transport them to the zone before they meet the usual requirements to reach that zone. Ferry locations exist due to a requirement of having a particular quest active or access to areas restricted to certain players. If quest based, the Ferry will often abandon the quest and retake it, allowing the process to be repeated. This differs from a Runner, where the passengers could technically reach their destination but choose to let the Runner do the work for them. Like Runners, Ferries may charge a small fee for their services. Or they may ask for 'tips', leaving it up to the passangers to choose if they wish to pay and how much.

  • Cavalon to The Deep: Players in the alliance controlling Cavalon have access to the elite mission, The Deep. Players in this alliance may ferry those not in the alliance to allow them access to the mission. A Passage Scroll to the Deep may be used in lieu of a ferry.
  • House zu Heltzer to Urgoz's Warren: Players in the alliance controlling House zu Heltzer have access to the elite mission, Urgoz's Warren. Players in this alliance may ferry those not in the alliance to allow them access to the mission. A Passage Scroll to Urgoz's Warren may be used in lieu of a ferry.
  • Kamadan to Consulate Docks: Newly created characters in Elona usually have to complete all primary missions and quests on Istan before they have access to the Docks. However, a ferry with The Time is Nigh active may carry up to three players with them, granting them premature access to the Docks. The Docks provide maximum strength armor as well as a ferry point to reach Tyria and Cantha.
  • Consulate Docks to Lion's Arch: If a player chose to be ferried to the Consulate Docks, they will not yet be able to obtain the quest, Terror in Tyria which opens travel to Tyria. However a ferry with the quest may take up to five others with them (if they have Prophecies) to reach Lion's Arch.
  • Consulate Docks to Kaineng Center: If a player chose to be ferried to the Consulate Docks, they will not yet be able to obtain the quest, Plague in Cantha which opens travel to Cantha. However a ferry with the quest may take up to five others with them (if they have Factions) to reach Kaineng Center.
