Guide to feather farming

Feathers are a high-demand common material, used to craft Essences of Celerity. They are not difficult to farm. Two areas are ideal for farming them; North Kryta Province (Prophecies) and Jaya Bluffs (Factions). The latter is the least difficult as well as the fastest.

Feather farm locations

Blocks and other melee hate such as weakness are prominent in both areas, making spellcasting builds superior for these farms. Damage output from opponents is not very high as you'll generally be farming in normal mode. Consider a few defensive skills (not enchantments when farming in North Kryta Province, due to Shatter Enchantment), and fill the rest of your skill bar up with damage and energy management skills. Area of effect damage can efficiently deal with groups of enemies close together, and/or surrounding the player. A speed boost skill can reduce the time of the run. Note that Sensali Claws in Jaya Bluffs can cripple you.

Jaya Bluffs

• Start: Seitung Harbor
• Targets: Sensali Cutter, Sensali DarkFeather, and Sensali Claw (all level 12);
• Quest notes: Farming may be more lucrative if the quest Death with Honor is active.

The route depicted on the right passes through all 20 groups, when including the yellow path. The red path alone is faster, but has a reduced amount of enemies.

Threats & tactics

• Be careful around Hanjuu Towerfist. To get past, a player will brush his aggro range and potentially engage.
• Darkfeather Sensali use Enfeebling Touch, which causes direct health loss and weakness.
• There is a group of Sensali that sometimes spawns north of Miki Lake or on the lake.
• In a few places 2 to 3 groups are close to each other, which can overwhelm a player when engaged at the same time.

North Kryta Province

Start from either Lions Arch (right portal)
or D'alessio Seaboard (left portal)

• Start: Lion's Arch or D'Alessio Seaboard
• Target: Caromi Tengu Brave, Caromi Tengu Scout, and Caromi Tengu Wild (all level 12 to 13);
• Quest notes: There are fewer Caromi if the War in Kryta is active. (Drop any active Shining Blade Bounties and/or complete WiK to return spawns to normal.)

Start from either Lions Arch or D'alessio Seaboard and follow the path north, as seen on the right.

Threats & tactics

• Caromi Tengus Wild can interrupt key skills with Cry of Frustration and remove enchantments with Shatter Enchantments.
• Both types of Caromi Tengu Brave can block.
• Beware of nearby Fire Imps, which can burn you with Immolate.
• In normal mode, the player can ignore any non-Caromi foes as they are generally not strong enough to put the player in danger.
• All Caromi Tengu in this area are weak to lightning damage.

Notes

• Feather drops are affected by Hard Mode, on average you'll see 9 feathers drop in normal and 20 or so in Hard Mode.
• Some players prefer to farm in the Nahpui Quarter mission, but this is not as fast as the two farms listed here.
• When possible, farm during a holiday that includes special drops, e.g. Halloween or Wintersday.
