The Arcane Dragons of Shadow was founded mid-2007 with the desire to band together those who cared more about group dynamics and helping other players than they did about power playing. Large but still on the grow, [SHDW] enjoys a place in a large 9 guild alliance.
Recruitment
Arcane Dragons of Shadow is actively recruiting new (and old) players in need of a guild. You will fit into our guild best if your primary interest is working through the player vs. environment (PVE) storylines of the game and you enjoy the role playing aspect of this MMORPG. However, opportunities for player vs. player (PVP) forms of play do exist within our alliance and we do sometimes participate.
We have few requirements for membership; mostly that you be mature and helpful to others whenever possible. Promotion to an Officer position is at the discretion of the guild leader. You will need to have completed at least one of the GuildWars campaigns, be willing to participate in recruiting, and have joined the guild forum in order to qualify for an officer's position.
About Role Playing
Though there's certainly no requirement to do so, we've found the game takes on a added dimension of fun when you role play your character through the story and interact with fellow guild members in character. If you're not an experienced role player but have an interest, we invite you to check these links for some information and guidance:
- A Roleplay Guide - This guide was written for the Anarchy Online MMORPG, however it could easily be applied to any game. The guide contains excellent basic information about character development.
- The Daedalus Project - A website devoted to the psychology of massive multi-player online role playing games. This is an academic work covering a wide range of MMORPG related topics but most interesting are those listed under the Social Phenomena heading on the category page.
- Guild Wars Roleplayers Association - This site is for role players from all guilds and alliances as well as unaffiliated players.
