History of [GOT]
In the beginning...
In the beginning there was nothing... oh wait, only the history of Gathering Of Tweakers? Really? Ah fine then...
Gathering Of Tweakers is a Dutch community site, with a well visited forum. Some of these visitors of this forum were really into this game called Guild Wars. In May 2005, they decided to start a guild. Surprisingly, this guild was named just like the community. It didn't take long before players who had nothing to do with the Gathering of Tweakers community started to join the guild. The guild kept growing and growing, becoming one of the best known guilds in The Netherlands.
Good times, bad times
After the summer of 2006 most players of GoT stopped playing the game after owning the Hall Of Heroes all summer long. Finishing top 5 of the european GvG league meant more frustration than ever, encountering War Machine time on time again and losing precious points. In the end real-life won from guild wars :(
Status Quo
In these days, [GOT] has approximately 40 members, with a core group of about 15 players. Spontaneous events occur practically every day. The combination of veteran and new players makes for a refreshing and satisfiing experience for everyone. During the long wait for Guild Wars 2 we help each other completing goals, have a lot of fun on our forum and Teamspeak server, design and test new builds, try other games together and keep making fun of our poor officers at every possibility.
The future of [GOT]
Most of [GOT]'s members are awaiting the long expected arival of Guild Wars 2, so it will not surprise anyone that [GOT] will continue to exist is Guild Wars 2, with the same goals as we have now.
