History of Gathering Of Tweakers
In the beginning there was nothing... oh wait, only the history of Gathering Of Tweakers? Really? Ah fine then..
Gathering Of Tweakers is a Dutch community site. Some of them were really into this game called: Guild Wars. So, they decided to start a guild together with the same name as the community. That day was in May 2005. First, as you may expect, it was only for people of this community. But as time proceeds members were added who had nothing to do with this community. Me, for example, didn't even know of the existence of the community before I had joined the guild. The goal of the guild is to get as much fun as possible out of this game. Our goal is to do both PvE and PvP, however, we don't have PvP only players (Most of those die-hard PvP players seem to be guild hopping all the time anyway) so PvP isn't something we do regularly at the time of writing.
GoT is currently looking for more members, so if you are interested and you agree with the rules below, then feel welcome to apply on our forum.
Rules
- First of all you should be able to speak, read and write understandable civilized Dutch.
- No Cheats/Hacks: If we find out that a member is using an illegal third party program to make his/her life simple in Guild Wars are immediately kicked.
- One Guild to rule them all: Be loyal, you may not have a second account in an other guild. Unless if you are allowed by our Guild Management.
- Mature minded: Respect every member (yes, even the officers) in the guild. Off course, you may not like a particular member of the guild, but leave him/her. Street talk isn't allowed. (Like: Lolz, wud b 1337, kkthxbai, fo sho etc. A joke is always welcome though. )
- All for one, one for all: Help other members who don't know the game as good as you do. We are a social guild, so helping other is a very common thing in the Guild.
- Don't promote your own Guild on our forums.
- Forum account: You should have a forum account because our forum is the general way we communicate with each other.
- I am on holidays for 4 weeks! Reply: Fine for you but please post it on our forum so we know that you won't be online from Date 1 till date 2. We will kick players who are longer off line then 2 weeks and don't inform us.
- No account sharing.
- You will only get 1 warning. If we receive another complaint... Resistance is futile you will be assimilated, erm I mean kicked.
- PvP: For PvP you will need to use Teamspeak and a headset (If you use a microphone with a huge dolby surround system, then it's quite annoying when you try to tell something when you hear Guild Wars music/sound effects on the background.)
Officers
The GoT guild is unique because there is no single ruler or guild leader. Instead, the guild is runned by a guild management team. So we just have an account who is the guild leader. All members of the Guild Management team have acces to this account so important actions can be taken faster. (For example, Guild X is looking for an alliance, how lucky they are, they have found one. However they can't join this alliance because their Guild Leader is on holidays and therefore can't accept the invitation. We will never have problems like these.)
