The biggest points in our recruitment policy are as follows:
- Are you 18 or older? Or at least respectably mature for your age?
- We are mature players, and expect our fellow guildmates to be the same. We don't want to scar your ears on accident after all.
- Do you understand and use, even in chat, basic rules of spelling and grammar?
- Lady Chani, the more-often-than-not leader, is a grammar nazi. If a guildmate cannot write in a literate fashion, she will be sorely tempted to boot them, and will more than likely ask them to improve their writing. (exceptions will be made for those with learning disabilities or foreign language upbringing.) It should be known, though, that even she indulges in leet/chatspeak on occasion.
- Are you willing to play with one of the officers and get to know us for a while before joining our guild?
- We want to foster a sense of closeness and camaraderie between our membership. We want the members to know that they can talk with the officers & other members and have fun with them. Yes, we want us to be friends with each other eventually. (*gasp*)
- Do you love anime?
- When we ask you your favorite anime, please give us an answer of something that hasn't shown on mainstream TV in the last five years. We are old-school anime fans that remembers when fansubs had to be traded on VHS tapes. If you have not expanded your horizons past what the TV gives to you, we are sorely disappointed in you as an anime fan. (If you have seen other series' and still believe... say, Death Note is the best around, we will probably be accepting of it.)
And, last but not least:
- Do you understand where the guild's name comes from?
- The founders of this guild are rather big fans of this ten year old series, and if you don't even have a vague idea of where the name came from, we will probably annoy you with our chatter about it.
Also, just so you know, this recruitment 'policy' is much more like a set of guidelines. If we like you, you're welcome in the guild (even if it's just one officer that likes you). We're just bunch of crazy people trying to find similarly crazy people in this big game.
