Our focus is supporting other guild members in all aspects of the game. We enjoy almost everything from PvE to GvG. We also spend a lot of time on the Alliance Battle fields, with our alliance usually holding a town or outpost with a large amount of Luxon faction, though that is not the sole focus of the guild.

LUXN is active in all versions of Guild Wars: Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North.

Guild History

Protectors of the Dominion [LUXN] was created when two guilds, DOMINION [WARS] and Protectors of the Luxon [POTL] merged in the early summer of 2007.

Guild Policy

Members are to act in an appropriate manner so as not to make others uncomfortable and/or ashamed of the guild. This includes treating all guild members with respect and kindness. In this game, as in life, attitude is everything.

Behavior

Inappropriate behavior will first result in a warning from the guild leader or an officer. Subsequent problems will result in being kicked from the guild without notice. Inappropriate behavior includes:

  • Insulting or degrading any guild officers, members, and/or alliance members
  • Sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or racially or ethnically offensive language as defined in the Guild Wars Rules of Conduct
  • Begging for gold, items, or in-game runs
  • Dissension or scamming in the guild
  • An overall bad attitude including self interest above team goals, such as leaving a group during a mission or GvG team without notice or brief explination
  • Unsportsmanlike and childish tantrums after a defeat

Member Requirements

If you have the time, please help your fellow members. There is nothing worse than having a 100 member guild where no one is willing to help one another. Leaders and officers are often bombarded with help requests, so please help your fellow members whenever possible. Members who repeatedly do not help other guild members or fail to get involved in guild events will be removed.

  • Log on to Guild Wars at least once every 2 weeks; once every week is preferred. If you know you won't be playing for a while or will rarely be online, please post to the guild chat section of our forum. This will enable us to remove you from the guild. You can keep in touch with us via the forum and ask for another invitation anytime.
  • Help other members when you have the time.
  • Find a guild event that interests you and participate. Speak up about the event in guild chat or on our forums.

Officer Requirements

An officer that cannot meet these requirements will be demoted. A guild leader will not demote without providing an explanation for the demotion.

  • Log on to Guild Wars at least once every other day. Every day is preferred, but we do have lives outside of Guild Wars (really we do). If you know you won't be playing for a while or will rarely be online, please post to the guild chat section of our forum. This will enable us to remove you from the guild. You can keep in touch with us via the forum and ask for another invitation anytime.
  • Keep the guild's success in mind.
  • Maturity: Regardless of your age, if you act like a leader, then you will be seen as one.
  • Willingness to help others: If you happen to notice a member that needs assistance, and you as an officer cannot give assistance, please provide a response either way. Ignoring is not an option.

GvG Teams

  • Ventrillo & either a headset or computer microphone and headphones for voice chat during matches is required.
  • Be willing to stop a quest (not a mission) to gather at the hall when a GvG match is forming - especially if you are a first string team member.
  • You have to be a good listener before you can be a good leader. You MUST be willing to take notes, and do some research. Everyone cannot take charge at the same time.
  • Post your full team builds to the LUXN forums and, if it sounds good, we will try your build.
  • Don't let losing get you down. Once we have a GvG group together, DON'T QUIT. Developing good GvG strategy takes time. Winning is not everything, having fun is.
