You really do have no idea about IPs do you, those are internal addresses + therefore banning either of them would annoy a lot of registered users who route through that address. Chieftain Alex 09:48, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

internal (private) IPs would never show up on a website, because they're just that - internal. No idea how someone managed to get that IP to show up. Either they were spoofing or are on NCSoft's own network (assuming NCSoft uses the 192.168 address space).

For the record, it was a bug with the way the servers that host the wiki were communicating with each other that was recording the internal IP of one server or another rather than the user's actual IP. Thus banning those IPs, or even banning accounts and forgetting to turn off autoblock IP during that time, caused a lot of collateral damage. While Alex's reply is perhaps not the most enlightening, we were dealing with this bug off and on for a month or few by that point, so sometimes it's hard to remember that not everyone is up to the latest on everything that goes on semi-behind-the-scenes. - Tanetris 21:14, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

This might be User:Sparky, the Tainted, who just made a typo in editing Defy Pain (PvP). (The same IP posted a reasonable note on the relevant talk page.) However, it's really not like Sparky to make a mistake and leave it unfixed, so I fear it could also be a vandal.
