Formatting guideline

This page is an accepted formatting guideline on the Guild Wars Wiki.

It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that all contributors should follow. Before editing this page, it is suggested to gather consensus on the talk page first.

Builds articles[edit]

Build articles are outside the scope of this guideline, the build guideline is located at Guild Wars Wiki:Formatting/Builds, and the build policy is located at Guild Wars Wiki:Builds.

Events[edit]

Pages for community hosted events must be tagged with {{community hosted event}}.

Fan fiction[edit]

Fan fiction and pages about fan fiction are generally restricted to the user namespace, however there are some exceptions:

  • Suggestions within the forthcoming feedback namespace are permitted to contain fan fiction.
  • If a piece of fan fiction is a winner, finalist or honorable mention in an official ArenaNet or NCSoft contest, it may be hosted within the main namespace or covered by a main namespace article.

Guild articles[edit]

Guild articles are outside the scope of this guideline, the guild page guideline is located at Guild Wars Wiki:Formatting/Guilds, and the guild page policy is located at Guild Wars Wiki:Guild pages.

Player character pages[edit]

Player character pages are restricted to the user namespace.

Miscellaneous off-topic content[edit]

The primary purpose of the main namespace is to accurately document Guild Wars, and the primary purpose of each main namespace article is to accurately document its' subject, off-topic text, links, images and other media are prohibited from main namespace articles.
