Candidate statement[edit]

Hey,

a lot people didn't really take this reconfirmation serious, and I have to admit that the special circumstances this reconfirmation was triggered cannot really be taken too serious. However, given that it in the end it doesn't really matter how a reconfirmation starts, all what counts is, that it starts. And as such, I'll take this quite serious.

Most people probably know me. I'm a registered user here since 8th February 2007 (one day short after the wiki started) and actually active since March/April that year. I started with cleanup duties and other background things until I became a sysop on 9th August 2007. Since then I have done a lot different things, especially in the area of wiki coding, which lead to me being the first person to get asked when having problems with anything code related. To mention just some projects (just in case you don't know); I am the author of GuildWarsWikiTools (which next version I really hope to get released as soon as possible), I wrote two MediaWiki extensions and multiple other JavaScript enhancements, contributed a lot to the template namespace and also took a core position in the development of quite a lot of pages across the wiki (links are just random examples).

As a sysop, I personally would categorize myself into the background-technical-janitorial-yet-open-for-anything category. In general I try to remain as neutral as possible in all actions, especially in user disputes, which I actually try avoid if possible. And I also plan to continue it like this, as this is the way I feel most comfortable.

  9. Strong support. Losing poke as a sysop would be detrimental to the wiki. Poke is one of the users that can use the benefit of the additional tools effectively.
