Out of interest, which of my contributions led you to believe I'd like to be in a position of "authority", and why do you think that would mean I'd like to be bureaucrat? -- pling User Pling sig.png 22:14, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

I'm not really interested in satisfying your curiosity. You can either accept the nomination or not. Misery 08:45, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
ma boy mizzles tryin to trol u dog haha xD what a crazy nigga -Cursed Angel 熱 15:03, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
That rollback discussion you started with constructive criticism, and which got crapped upon by you-know-who. Koda User Koda Kumi Horns1.GIF 17:02, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
@Pling From what I seen on GW2W, you are respectful and do what is right as an admin and I'm sure those qualities are found on this wiki as well. Perhaps thats why Misery nominated you. - Lucian User Lucian.png 4:23, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
Lucian, Pling was an admin here first, but resigned when it got more active over at GW2W. poke | talk 13:33, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
Those two weren't linked btw - I didn't resign because of GW2W activity. -- pling User Pling sig.png 14:27, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
I admit, GW2W is hella more active as of late but Pling, why did you resign? Just busy in life? Think that should be a good question if you really want B status, you know? - Lucian User Lucian.png 0:03, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
It was a crap time to be a admin when Pling resigned. (I wasn't blameless for this) The internal wiki politics was all a bit excessive. I'm not saying this is why he resigned but I wouldn't blame him if it was. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 21:44, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Being a sysop (note: sysop) got a bit distracting and it wasn't fun anymore. -- pling User Pling sig.png 22:20, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Which parts did you cease to enjoy to such a degree that you'd give up the "policing the wiki" aspect that you very evidently love? I have a hard time believing that the janitorial tasks got out of hand. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 4:25, 15 Feb 2011 (UTC)
I didn't "love" "policing the wiki". -- pling User Pling sig.png 16:54, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
There seems to be some disagreement between your rhetoric and your actions. You also seem to be responding to almost any question or comment in a hostile, usually curt, manner. You can be better than this Pling. You could be a great leader on this wiki, but you seem to be focusing your energies on fairly minor, trivial matters. My nomination is sincere. All three of my nominations were and I am fairly confident that one of those three people will be elected. Please, think about what you actually want to achieve with your time spent on this wiki, then align your actions with your goals. Lord knows I keep the two closely aligned at all times. Misery 17:05, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
To be fair, Misery, you treat the wiki differently than most contributors, who simply came here to help document the game. You've had a goal in mind months or years in advance, and (usually) your actions are simply steps closer to achieving your goal. I doubt Pling has the same approach to the wiki. He felt strongly about various issues during his sysop career, but I didn't notice any over-arching themes or "goal," per se; he simply lived the role day-to-day and gave it his best effort. I'm not sure his curt nature is entirely his fault, either; he was thrown under quite a few buses in his time, usually for trivialities, and he took the brunt of the flak for policing ANet staff pages.
On that note, though, his recent responses haven't been terribly different from the norm. Pling has seemed kind of bitter for months now. Hopefully that doesn't have a negative effect on his vote tally. -Auron 18:04, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, I'm a bit surprised that I seem bitter or hostile, because I'm really not intending to be. I'm trying to be concise, sure, but not rude. This worries me a little because of parallels with what was considered Wyn's "attitude". Could you point me to particular examples where I sounded bitter or hostile? (Including on GW2W?) -- pling User Pling sig.png 18:52, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Without pointing to any hostile examples, the overall vibe I get is an old man saying "get off my lawn, you damn kids." Raine's failure at rollback is one such example. I don't think it was as much your tone as simply your choice of topic. A few of your responses to Misery here seem curt, but it may just be my lack of exposure to non-carebear posts. I guess I just classify posts as either carebear or douchebag without giving much thought to the middle ground. -Auron 19:03, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

...Dude.... What? Since when has pling ever been hostile about anything? --BriarUser Briar Sig 3.jpgThe Spider 19:12, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

The last time pling was in a position of authority, he started a witch hunt to get everyone he has personal issues with banned from the wiki. Giving someone like that b-crat powers sounds like a fucking brilliant plan xD--TahiriVeila 05:51, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

If you're referring to the pruning page, that was done after I resigned. -- pling User Pling sig.png 13:23, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
And he was a bcrat after that already iirc.. poke | talk 14:57, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
Ups my bad. Still, that entire debacle pretty much convinced me that (while you might do janitorial thing s just fine) you're more of a problem than a solution when it comes to policing the wiki and dealing with policy issues.--TahiriVeila 16:05, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
