Are we really going to bother? :/ -Auron 13:13, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Rainith is resigning, so we need someone else anyway. poke | talk 14:15, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Why wouldn't we bother? -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 16:21, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Because the elections are stupid and pointless. See Guild Wars Wiki talk:Admin noticeboard/Archive 11 for a few ideas. User Felix Omni Signature.pngelix Omni 18:00, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Not so much resigning as my time is up. That coupled with the fact that my mother fell ill last month and I wanted to visit her in the hospital, so I asked Jon and Poke to make sure this was started as I wasn't going to be able to be around much to do it. (Thanks for making sure it happened guys.) --Rainith 01:05, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Interesting number of nominees. Konig/talk 16:50, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

My prediction is that TEF will decline, Pling will lose the vote and the wiki will self-implode leaving Guild Wiki as the leading wiki about GW again, which was TEF's plan all along. Nobody is that nice without an agenda. ;) Sardaukar User Sardaukar sig.png 17:01, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Hardly a prediction if TEF has said he is having less and less time to spend - so is spending it on the other wiki. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 17:11, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Other wiki? For Guild Wars 1 stuff, I'm pretty much GWW contributor. As for Sarsaukar's guess... lemme just say that, rats, foiled again. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:28, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Without elections the wiki could potentially turn into a bureaucratic tyranny. Yes, the sysops need to respect each others authority, and yes the arbcomm is essentially useless, but that doesn't mean bureaucrats should be able to do whatever they want for as long as they want with no other entity to keep them in check. -- User Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 17:15, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
I don't think that's going to be the case. I believe everyone's sick of that sort of BS, by now. If the hierarchical tree no longer forks, I believe whomever's left will either struggle simply to survive alone on a wiki so large or take the hint the others have left behind. Of course, I could always be wrong. 76.106.245.213 22:16, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
The wiki is not going to turn into a bureaucratic tyranny. And, in the infinitesimally small chance it does, one would simply have to email ArenaNet and inform them of the situation, and let them take action on it. The chances of that, however, are so small that simply abolishing the system would be better for the wiki in the long run. This place will be a relative ghost town when GW2 launches, and it needs to be as self-sufficient as possible. Needless bureaucracy only gets in the way. -Auron 09:25, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
At least we have learned from the failures here. Koda User Koda Kumi Horns1.GIF 10:16, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
What's worrisome is the degree of learnings from the failures of alternate systems. --Rezyk 00:46, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

Tally[edit]

Pling (+18) wins over Aiiane (+5). Congratulations. --JonTheMon 12:35, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
