Health gain is the increase of health. Health gain can be caused by six different mechanics:
- Health regeneration
- Life stealing and Life Draining
- Health increase due to an increase in maximum health
- Direct health gain through skills or effects
 Direct health gain
Often, health gain is used to refer specifically to this final category of health gain. When a skill's description refers to health gain, this is the type of health gain it refers to.
Direct health gain is not healing. It is unaffected by healing modifiers and does not trigger skills that trigger on healing (e.g. Scourge Healing). Unlike healing, skills that cause health gain can increase a spirit's health.
- An increase of your health or an increase of health caused by your skills is displayed as a blue number. This does not include health increases by regeneration or increases in maximum health.
