[edit] Drunkard title track
Tier Title Minutes 1 Drunkard 1,000 2 Incorrigible Ale-Hound 10,000
[edit] Acquisition
Consume alcoholic beverage items in-game to trigger the drunk effect.
[edit] How it works
There are 5 intoxication levels to being drunk. The first two do not provide credit towards the Drunkard title, as you are not drunk enough yet. Each level 1 drink is good for 1 level of drunk and lasts 1 minute. It takes 3 level 1 drinks in one minute to get drunk enough to start getting credit for being drunk. Each level of drunk wears off after 1 minute, so you have to stay drunk by drinking 1 level 1 drink per minute. If you have an additional drink per minute you go up another level per drink. As 5 is the highest level, drinking more than 5 drinks in 1 minute will just waste the extra drinks. Keep in mind that some drinks provide the maximum 5 levels of drunk in just a single drink. To properly mix your drinks, see the chart above.
Others around you will also notice you are drinking, as you will no longer have complete control over what your character says and does.
Then, once you finish drinking, and the drunkenness wears off, you descend 1 level of drunk per minute until you are completely sober again. As previously mentioned, the lowest two levels, the last two minutes, will not count towards the title. The drunkenness timer is not affected by player death. Should you die, you will continue to descend one level of drunkenness per minute and will still be intoxicated upon resurrection (unless sufficient time has passed to become sober). However, you may not consume more alcohol while dead.
- The cheapest way to get the Drunkard title is to start off with drinking an intoxication level 5 drink. After one minute, drink one level 1 drink and keep drinking a level 1 drink once per minute. After you've finished the last level 1 drink, let yourself sober up to acquire the remaining 3 minutes. You can check when a minute has passed by looking at the bar of the title in the Hero panel. Save your level 5 drinks until you have a reasonable number of level 1 drinks, and start over.
- Another good way to generate a lot of Drunken time is to use Kegs of Aged Hunter's Ale, obtained from Gifts of the Traveler. Each Keg is worth fifty level five drinks, and since each level five drink provides full Drunkard credit, you only need to take a drink from the Keg every three minutes as opposed to every minute. This is also economical for those who play the game while working on their title - maintaining one's Drunken level once every three minutes is easier for players who are out fighting mobs while intoxicated, and Kegs of Aged Hunter's Ale are easy to keep in one's inventory for such purpose. This can take some of the grind out of acquiring the title.
[edit] Acquisition
There are a number of strategies which can be used to obtain alcoholic beverages.
- In Pre-Searing Ascalon the group of hunters will give you a Hunter's Ale for killing a bear and returning to them within a 3 minute time limit.
- You can obtain Dwarven Ale, Aged Dwarven Ale, Eggnog and Spiked Eggnog as part of repeatable missions in the Eye of the North expansion.
- Certain collectors will exchange trophies for alcohol, which can reduce the cost of the title.
- Alcohol frequently drops during special weekends and events. Consider vanquishing or doing farms that kill a lot of enemies to get free alcohol.
- Festivals may also add collectors that will trade trophies for festival items like alcoholic beverages. Thanks to that, more players than usual may trade alcoholic beverages, so during a festival it may be easier and cheaper to acquire alcohol by trading with other players.
Please refer to the table above and the individual alcohol pages for complete information on acquisition.
[edit] Notes
- The 1,000 minutes required for tier 1 takes about 16 hours and 40 minutes of real-time to achieve.
- The 10,000 minutes required for completing this title track takes about 6 days, 22 hours, and 40 minutes to achieve.
- Due to the cost of in-game alcohol, acquiring this title may cost hundreds of thousands or even millions of gold, depending on how efficient and accurate one was in consuming them and the cost to acquire the alcohol.
- Alcohol can be accumulated during events for free as most of the major holiday events feature some type of alcohol as a gift or a drop, but this can take longer than simply purchasing the needed alcohol.
- It is a good idea to turn off the post-process effects if you want to do missions, quests or similar things while being drunk in-game. That way, you are not bothered by the effect of being drunk.
- A good idea may be to have your title track progression (under the Hero panel) open while drinking the ales, so you can tell when a minute has passed and you should drink another.
- Also note that the timer for the Drunkard title may stop before the on screen effects stop, which is why you should monitor your progress on your title track progression.
