MantleCon 1087 AE

Continuing the tradition in honor of our Unseen Gods

I am MursaatHistorian23, and you can find my page by clicking this. I started playing in 2013, and instantly fell in love with the Mursaat. I was very exited when I found out about the Mursaat Rally's and MantleCon, as they were huge community based celebrations honoring the Mursaat! To my despair, I discovered that they had taken place from 2008-2011, apparently to help show ArenaNet how much they wanted the Mursaat to appear in Guild Wars 2.

I thought that I should try to host one of my own, as ArenaNet has just done what everyone wanted them to: they have brought back the Mursaat Lazarus into Guild Wars 2. I wanted to celebrate this, by making another MantleCon for 2017. Now, this likely will be much smaller, as I cannot do alone what the many great staff for the previous celebrations did. But, I will do what I can to make another celebration to honor the Unseen Ones. This is just and idea, and I wanted to see what other people thought about it first.

What I want to include

I want to try and include the things past celebrations did, like:

- Costume Contest

- Trivia

- Scavenger Hunt

However, I don't think I could of the Golden Theater, for lack of other staff. I just wanted to see how others reacted, and see if I should actually try to make this happen.

MantleCon 1087 (DRAFT)

It has been many years since the fall of the Mantle. The royal line has been restored, the Mursaat have been wiped from the face of Tyria, and the formerly glorious White Mantle are nothing more than a terorist cell hiding in the jungle. Or so things were. Now, the last Mursaat, Lazarus the Dire, has come back. This is a sign that the Mursaat have not been fully defeated. Now, we must travel back in time to 1087, were we celebrate the reappearance of the Mursaat, and continue the tradition of MantleCon!

The Spirit

While over time the spirit of MantleCon has drifted from the Mursaat to the White Mantle and Shining Bade, this MantleCon will focus again on the Unseen Ones and their divine glory. Several events will be held:

Costume Contest Players will compete to show their best Mursaat/Jade Armor themed costume, and will be judged, a winner rising to claim a glorious reward.

Trivia A Mursaat will come, asking easy as well as hard questions relating to the Mursaat. Players will be awarded based on their answer.

Scavenger Hunt Prior to the event, a list of items will be given to find. Items will be collects for rewards.
