• Keeping Mayor Alegheri alive is crucial because his death will remove the party from the Underworld. He is usually only attacked by hostile Tortured Spirits during the quest Wrathful Spirits if they first manage to kill all allied Tortured Spirits, so keeping at least one allied Tortured Spirit alive will ensure your safety.

• His name is a reference to Dante Alighieri, an Italian poet who wrote "The Divine Comedy". The Divine Comedy includes "Inferno", a description of a descent into Hell.
