Noob

Noob or n00b, nub, nawb, similar to newb, newbie, is a common player term used to refer to a bad player, rather than the common usage of "newbie" for inexperienced, new players. It is a term common in internet and online game culture.

Newb or newbie is used politely or as an endearment towards an acknowledged new player. Noob can also be a polite term, but it depends on context as it can be seen as an insult.

As an insult the meaning of "Noob" is close to that of "You suck" and is given to those who show behavior which you might associate with a new player. It is mostly reserved for those who claim expert knowledge, or ability in the game but have proven to those observing that the exact opposite is true.

A common incident which occurs (especially among the newer players) is that one unfortunate person will be new to an area or will not have looked on the Wiki pages and will die quickly in an "easy" area which will then get them dubbed a "noob" (unfairly since they may be very skilled).

Other related terms such as scrub and shitter are only ever used in a negative light, but these can also refer to whorus.
