Obsidian Spike Elementalist

This team consists of Elementalists with mixed secondary professions. This team lulls its opponents into false security by weakening all targets slowly, then suddenly destroys a single target with coordinated use of the spell Obsidian Flame.

— in-game description

The Obsidian Spike Elementalists is one of the teams that can be found in Zaishen Challenge and Zaishen Elite. Each NPC on the team has the same skill bar. Once they are in range, they will generally remain stationary. They will pick a target and spike with Obsidian Flame. When attacked by melee, they will cast Ward Against Melee and stay within it. After anyone takes enough damage, they will all use Heal Area.

NPCs[edit]

  • In Zaishen Challenge, the team will randomly have 4 of these names:
    • Keifah of the Zaishen
    • Kizal of the Zaishen
    • Linmusu of the Zaishen
    • Muanzin of the Zaishen
    • Tajai of the Zaishen
    • Turo of the Zaishen
    • Xinhu of the Zaishen
    • Zuhan of the Zaishen
  • In Zaishen Elite, each NPC is named "Zaishen Elementalist".

Strategy[edit]

  • The elementalists rely on coordinated spikes to quickly eliminate targets. Since they tend to group together and Obsidian Flame casts slowly, AoE interrupting skills such as Cry of Frustration are very effective.
  • Due to the rate of damage and that they do it to usually one foe, it is a better idea to bring a protection monk rather than a healing monk. Reversal of Fortune works well in this case.
