[edit] Guild Wars Players Guide (Prophecies)
This is a tutorial on how to start playing Guild Wars.Hopefully this guide will help new players get a grasp on what is going in the game.Once players have this basic knowledge they can get busy having fun with the game.
[edit] Starting Out in Prophecies
- When you first start the game, you will start in Ascalon City. This is a time before the Charr start their massive battle against Ascalon City.It is called the Searing because they used fire to destroy the great city. This time period is known as Pre-Searing.It serves the new player as a training ground. This training period lets the new player get used to the controls of Guild Wars before going out into the outside world.
- One of the first things a player will want to do is to talk to the Town Crier. He will be the character that will have a green exclamation mark above his head.Characters that have this will have information for you or will send you on a quest to move you along in the story. You will be sent to a person that will welcome you to the city and gives your character their main quest that will allow their character to leave Pre-Searing .
- It is strongly suggested that the new player stay in Pre-Searing . Until they are comfortable with the controls of the game. This is your chance to practice and learn how to fight, party with other players, gain more inventory space, communicate with other players, trade with other players. In other words, practice everything in the training area that you will need to know once you go outside into the real world of Guild Wars. Once outside you will have a whole continent to explore.

[edit] Primary Mission in Pre-Searing
- Your primary mission in Pre-Searing is to choose a secondary profession. You will given a chance to try out any profession as a secondary one.You will be able to use the skills you are testing out with your primary ones in battle. Ex. you have a warrior as primary and you choose to try monk as secondary. You will able to use skills that you have learned from both professions in battle. You will have a chance to choose skills from each profession but only get to use the skills you have on the skill bar at the bottom of your character screen. You will be allowed to use up to eight skills at a time. You can switch the skills around, but only in the towns. Once outside of the towns, you will have to stick with the skills on the skill bar until you reach the next town.
