Powder Keg
From Guild Wars Wiki
Powder Kegs are kegs of explosive materials which have many uses among the Guild Wars universe:
- they are used to destroy gates in Kaanai Canyon and Ancestral Lands (knockdown players and set them on fire).
- they are used to destroy semi-strong rock barriers in the Depths of Tyria from a supply given to you by Budger Blackpowder. These kegs do not cause an effect other than breaking down these barriers.
- they can also be used to inflict 50 damage and knockdown per keg on enemies adjacent to the keg's explosion. These kegs are obtained by paying a fee of a 100
to Budger Blackpowder, who starts off outside Sifhalla in Drakkar Lake, but will follow you anywhere so long as you do not enter an outpost or mission area. These kegs however do not inflict any such effects on Bounty givers, meaning players need to receive the bounty by their own means (specifically in the case of Norn, who will ask you to fight have you not a sufficient rank in the Norn title). The bundle's explosion is treated as AoE damage and as such causes enemies to scatter.
- This bundle could be spammed indefinitely with little to no delay in between bundle requests. Masses of damage could be quickly achieved in a very small space of time, offering itself to farming certain areas of the Eye Of The North parts of the Shiverpeaks. The A/E Shadow Bomber is a key example of such exploitations. This was nerfed in the June 11th update where the amount of time between bundle requests from Budger Blackpowder was increased to several seconds. The build still works but due to the AI's scattering due to AoE damage and its much slower speed, it can be considered obselete.
- The bundle can still be spammed after the game update if recieved from some Dwarven Powder Keg Stations. Though there are only rare situations where enemy patrols are near the keg stations. One example is in Vloxen Excavations level 2.
