Preparation

A preparation is a skill type unique to the ranger profession. Preparations involve a character that alters the way in which their arrows are made, allowing them to cause additional effects.
Some preparations can be used on other weapons than bows. These are Apply Poison, Scavenger's Focus and Expert's Dexterity. Trapper's Focus is a preparation that directly affects traps.
A target can only have one preparation on them at a time. Activating another preparation will override the previous one. Once a preparation has been activated, it cannot be removed by foes until its duration expires.
All Preparations take 2 seconds to cast.
