Sacnoth Valley is an area in the Charr Homelands in Eye of the North. The northwestern section is the location of the Charr stronghold sieged during the mission Assault on the Stronghold. The northeastern and southwestern portions are largely populated by Grawl and Tumbled Elementals. The southeastern section is populated by Flowstone Elementals and patrolling groups of Burning Spirits, making it very dangerous to an unprepared group. There are two dungeon entrances in the area; Rragar's Menagerie to the southwest, and Catacombs of Kathandrax to the southeast.

[edit] Notes
After extended periods of time, the animation of the fire in the Sacnoth Inferno will freeze and not animate. Restarting Guild Wars fixes it.
- Interactive objects
- Food Supplies (during Forbidden Fruit)
- Locked Chest (Chest)
- This is perhaps the best place to farm Vanguard reputation points, with about 435-455 foes total. An experienced group can easily reach about 5000 and favorably reach over 10000 points in one pass.
- The Charr stronghold does not open if any of the party members has not completed Assault on the Stronghold, or if any party member has Forbidden Fruit, or Single Ugly Grawl Seeks Same for Mindless Destruction in Ascalon active. The western entrance will open during the second quest, and the southwestern during the third.
- Players can enter the stronghold even if it is closed by using Dismount Siege Devourer in front of the gate.
- All popping Worms need to be killed for a successful vanquish.
- The flaming spirits surrounding Borrguus Blisterbark will shout charr phrases such as "For the warband!" even though they aren't charr.
- The burning forest here can be particularly difficult to vanquish without defense against elemental damage; the large number of enemies with powerful AoE spells can quickly wipe out a party, especially if Borrguus Blisterbark and his Flaming Djinns patrols by. Any way to mitigate the damage here, including wards or false targets such as spirits and minions, is extremely helpful. On the other hand, also watch out for Fozzy Yeoryios, whose group has a lot of potent healing in Hard Mode, and can stymie a party without lots of damage.
[edit] Trivia
- Sacnoth Valley may be named after Sacnoth, a defunct Japanese video game developer.
- Sacnoth may also be a reference to the pulp-fiction fantasy Short Story, "The Fortress Unvanquishable Save for Sacnoth" by Lord Dunsany in which Sacnoth is a magical sword. The story exists within the public domain, and can be read here (WikiSource)
- This is the only place in the game where players can tame a Raven.
