A Salvage Kit contains the tools needed to salvage common crafting materials from certain items, such as weapons, shields, armor, and trophies.

• Any Merchant will sell it for 100 .
• Quest reward collectors in exchange for 1 reward trophy.
• Collectors in exchange for trophies (see chart below)

[edit] How to use

Double-click the Salvage Kit icon in either your inventory panel, or from an open storage account window, then click the item you wish to salvage. The item is then converted into a crafting material. However, the following situations can arrise:

• If the item has a magical property or an upgrade (blue, purple or gold) and is unidentified, a confirmation window will open and say:

This item name may contain magical components. If you choose to salvage before identifying, you may lose these components.

Select Yes to salvage or No to abort the attempt.

• If the item has been identified and contains an upgrade, a confirmation window will open and say:

You can only salvage crafting materials with a lesser salvage kit. This will destroy the item name. Are you sure you want to do this?

Select Yes to salvage or No to abort the attempt.

• If the item has already been identified and has a magical property (such as increased sale value) but does not contain an upgrade, the item will be salvaged with no additional warning.

• This kit cannot be used to salvage rare crafting materials, runes, insignias or upgrade components. To do so, you must use an Charr Salvage Kit in Pre-Searing Ascalon, or an Expert, Superior, or Perfect Salvage Kit in Post-Searing Ascalon.
• Regardless of the original number of uses, the cost per use of this kit is 4.
• The resale value of this kit decreases by 2 each time it is used.
• Some salvage kits, most notably in Pre-Searing Ascalon, Istan, and Shing Jea Island, begin with only 10 uses.
• The original item along with any upgrades will be destroyed and replaced by the crafting material.
• One empty slot in inventory is required prior to any salvage attempt.
