Please change this to target ally. Otherwise it's a useless skill. --193.95.195.100 10:39, 14 August 2007 (UTC) Still no viability to this skill. --193.77.133.54 18:48, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

This skill is fine. I run it in AB just to laugh in the faces of touchers. They run after the 2nd fail :D (77.70.60.74 15:09, 26 June 2008 (UTC))
They shouldn't. It takes a toucher 8 or 10 energy and about 1 second to burn thorough the skill with Plague Touch. --Spura 18:43, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Suggested Change[edit]

Mess with the energy, recharge, and cast time, change functionality to "Next 1...4...5 attacks against party members within earshot miss".

i think that would be a little overpowered. maybe if it was target ally, but not all party members. if not i think it would definatly benefit from being changed to like ... for the next 10 sec, toutch skill fail. this would make it usable in pve and still not absurdly good in pvp. 124.190.6.54 04:49, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Actually it isn't all that bad in PvE when tanking. When you have the aggro and use it, all the monsters will promptly stop touching you from what I've seen. So the skill lasts it's full duration most of time :) Minus 21:07, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't know how many touch skills are used in the game. I don't think they're not that commonly used. 20-feb-2008

NOTE![edit]

This is the longest duration Shout with no requirement in the game. It's the Paragon's Splinter Weapon. It's excellent for synergy with skills that rely on shouts/chants to be active to get an effect. (Soldier's Fury, for example) The anti-touch skill part is just a bonus. Although I must say, dropping the cost to 5 energy would much improve this skill. --Srakin 04:03, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

That would be a waste of a slot. Might as well take They're on Fire if you want to have a constant shout. It would cost less and might even help your team. --72.194.91.6 22:45, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
still fun to start dancing with this while activated. touchers can't do crap, you're shouting out lyrics, and people just get flat out peeved. Wandering Traveler 18:38, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Anyone know if this stops things like BR or Healing Touch? 24.4.250.104 02:57, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Just checked. It DOES NOT stop things like BR or Healing Touch. Blader 16:21, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Lowered cost[edit]

Nope, I still won't touch this skill. Saphatorael 14:59, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. This needs ally targeting and a better effect. Either fail+KD touch users or cause them to cast touch skills 200% slower against the ally or cause 15 sec disable on the touch skill used. Otherwise it is pretty pointless. --Spura 09:54, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
that wont help simply because like many other nf skills its to specified.Youre not taking this with you because you might see a toucher in one of youre matches. And then even if you would see them other options are far superior.Touchers have minimal damage most of the time anyway Lilondra 06:53, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Specific not specified. The thing is that if this skill was changed like I suggested, then at least I would be better in PvE where you can anticipate touchers(like dinosaurs). --Spura 10:13, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Also I've seen Anet changing elementalist skills to be less specific all the time, I don't see why they don't do that for paragon. Latest such skill is Rust which now deals adjacent aoe damage, which makes it half useful even when opponents don't have signets. --Spura 10:15, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Rust just needs a energy reduction and it can be usefull (small snare would work 2 as people need bar compression). Also it still wouldnt be usefull as dinosaurs are just fkn ridiculous.Monsters arent supposed to be so strong (like pve skills arent supposed to be this strong) broken skills to counter a broken world is just a broken idea.yh i meant specific sry its not my mothertongue and it was early in the morning.Anyway this skill will suck as long as it doesnt give something else like block chance or ANYTHING Lilondra 10:23, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Bar compression is bad. Adding a slow down effect to Rust would be the dumbest, most irresponsible thing that the "Balance" team could ever do. Even worse than the time they put Exhaustion on Ritualists. And although it would make sense with the skill, Block chance would be overpowered, as this can not be removed. However, knocking down an opponent that used the touch skill wouldn't be so bad. [[User:RitualDoll|Ritual{{rt}}Doll]]<small>[[User talk:RitualDoll|''talk'']]</small> 22:14, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Palm Strike[edit]

All of a sudden my ritualist needs this to survive against Palm Strike sins in Random Arenas. Arachanox 20:00, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

This skill is so broken, it's not even funny... Let's see... Palm Strike isn't forced to recharge when broken by Can't touch this. Can't touch this is "triggered" even if someone doesn't have the energy to activate Palm Strike... OK! So, swap to low energy set, spam palm strike to bust up Can't touch this... critical a few times for energy and good to go on combo. Fix this broken crap or nerf Palm Strike... kthx.

Whoever wrote the above comment is completely retarded. Just saying... the whole point of this skill is buying your team time and forcing foes to waste energy. Buying time for your team is very useful in PvP, and in PvE this skill can buy your team enough time to finish off a mob. But next time your going to complain about a skill, do your research. Critical strikes is not enough to make up for this skill spammed and failed 5 times; (not even close); and any good mesmer would see whats going on, would count the amount of spams, and interrupt the assassin, disabling the chain, not to mention kiting, and the fact that your not the only fucking player on your team in every single form of PvP where palm strike is played. So to wrap it up, above person, stop playing the game, now. You are hurting my brain with your utter uselessness. As you would say... kthx. (lols at how pathetic you are). P.S. Sign your comments, nimrod. Spotina Talk 22:28, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
LOL @ "interrupt the assassin, disabling the chain." One interrupt doesn't disable assassin combos, for a variety of reasons. The obvious ones are:
  1. Assassins bring PS and 5 attack skills.
  2. Assassin skills recharge every 6-8 seconds. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 22:36, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Umm, perhaps you've never seen diversion? Which i highly doubt considering your reputation :> (P.S., I adore you <3) Spotina Talk 22:41, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
I've seen diversion. Can you cast it while knocked down and/or dead? ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 22:19, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
The "retarded" comment you responded to, wasn't it long before the update? It was rarely worth just protecting yourself against PS sins and touch rangers to dedicate a secondary, skill slot and attribute points to this. Barely even useful if you already had the specs; maybe in times when PS sins were most popular, but that's about it. Now it seems somewhat useful in PvE in specific areas. Either way it's either OP or useless, depending on whether touch skills are important for your enemies. --Tenshi Samshel 22:46, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Category[edit]

This skill is in the Category:Skills with earshot AoE while it affects the user only. I think the category is added by the infobox, but I do not know how to remove it. Help! WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 00:30, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

By the way, the same goes for skills like "Dodge This!", "Help Me!", "I Am The Strongest!" and so on. I suppose these comments should be moved to a more appropriate page. WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 00:32, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Icon[edit]

Hammer pants? imo, the two figures in the icon look alot like female Necromancers in Vabbian armor. ~ Chao 15:15, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
I checked the high-res skill icon, they aren't parachute pants, they are Vabbian necromancers. ~ WELL HELLO Chao 00:04, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
i dont think ur sentences changed the pic which has the hammer pants lol
Definitely Vabbian armor... Spotina Talk 23:50, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Update[edit]

Now that it effects all allies with in earshot, you can take it in to competitive missions, ab, and all those other annoying touch missions and basicly screw over touchers for the entire match :) Underated Skill 02:31, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

PvE only, still pretty useless since they recharge instantly and enemies have haxxor energy. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 02:42, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Hope it works against those pesky dinosaurs... 60.241.230.79 08:33, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

thank you so much ANET! (the DoA quest with the breach is easy now )86.91.141.232 13:46, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Great for soldier's skill users in PvP, since it can be used to keep a shout on you at all times for only 5e every 20 seconds. And even at 2/6 command it will take 2/3 touch skills to remove it, so even if you run into a touch user and it does get removed that just means you avoided a good chunk of damage/blindness/whatever. Necromas 05:23, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Correction[edit]

It's Can't touch this, not U can't touch this Zachariah Zuan. 18:27, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

No, its U can't touch this. --158.121.88.54 18:29, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Baram?[edit]

im looking at baram in kodash bazaar and guess what. he doesnt have it. =D change please cuz i wasted a tome that i couold have used on this.

change it yourself, thats why the wiki can be edited by non-users like you. Spotina Talk 22:31, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Precise discription?[edit]

Is it 1..4..5 for each member or 1..4..5 total?

It's 1..4..5 skills used. --70.158.147.114 02:10, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Possitive its per party member. Each party member is affected by the shout and i seriously doubt it was setup like Angelic Bond. In the Crystal Desert this skill is king. Shock, Throw Dirt, plague touch/vile touch, vampiric touch, Blackout(just a boss). Admitedly its more the skills X 3-5 per mob that really makes "cant touch this!" shine. Justice 19:36, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
I agree, and this skill does wonders in the Domain of Anguish during Veil. I still think any paragon without this skill is either a retard or knows every monster he will face. Spotina Talk 22:30, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

The fact that almost the exact skill that was eventually implemented with the release of Nightfall was collaboratively thought up on Guild Wars Guru 2 months before Nightfall was released seems more than worthy of being in the Trivia. You may think that 2 months is too short a time for them to pick it up, but frankly creating a skill can't take more than an hour to code, and knowing ArenaNet, they were very likely still working on thinking up new skills even 2 months before release. The thread I speak of can be found here. --Curse YouCurse You(talk|contribs) 22:47, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Well it seems that I was in fact wrong about it, according to Emily Diehl Feedback talk:Emily Diehl#"Can't Touch This!" Origins. --Curse YouCurse You(talk|contribs) 05:44, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
