Fixed Da Game[edit]

Fixing Arena Net’s Mistakes – Part 1

Character customization is greatly lacking in Guild Wars.

Arena Net is too busy working on Guild Wars 2, so I figured I would fix their problems cause I’m such a nice guy.

Characters Need More Customization In Physical Appearance

-Add Tattoos (All types Girly, Guy, Skulls, Angels, Demons, Etc – Go here for ideas http://www.tattoofinder.com/)

-Allow weight customization (Skinny, Obese, Medium, Etc)

-Allow Earrings (Males + Females; varying sizes + styles + gemstones + gold/silver metal)

-All muscle customization; not all of us want to be a Hercules (Small muscles, large muscles)

-Allow more face customization. Everything on the face should be separate, NO WHOLE FACES! I want to choose a different nose, mouth, ear, eye, eye color, eyebrow, mustache, facial hair, etc I should be able to adjust the size and color of each of these)

-Combine all the hairstyles, faces, into one master selection depending on the expansions you have purchased. Sometimes I want to put a Tyrian face with a Canthan hairstyle with an Elonian skin color. LET ME!

-Allow me to choose my avatar’s animations! They’re should be an animation library in game and anytime I am in an outpost I can change my animations to how I see fit. Player’s shouldn’t be stuck with animations they don’t like.

-Allow me to adjust my looks at anytime. I should have the ability to change my looks once a month without penalty, but to do it more than that there should be a small gold fee to serve as a gold sink. Maybe a couple thousand gold.

-Allow the addition of make up (Sorry, this should be for females only)

-Allow highlights for female hair and be able to adjust the color, location, size of said highlight.

-Allow me to show my weapons in outposts! (Add an option for people who don’t want to see other people’s weapons, and to hide your weapons like we have currently)

-Allow me to select how my weapons are sheathed on my back, on my side, on my backpack, in my backpack, through a belt loop, inside of its own holder!

Image Caption[edit]

The image caption that says "Andrew Patrick with Andru Pitrak" is inaccurate. I, Sciros Darkblade, took that screenshot. So in fact what you see is "Sciros Darkblade with Andru Pitrak" :-) I'll see about having it changed to something like "A ZoS member with Andru Pitrak" perhaps.

Or I could get frosty to go take a shot of himself there and replace the picture ;) --Lemming64 18:23, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
I suppose that could work :-) Sciros 21:44, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Congrats, a question, and a request[edit]

Congrats on the promotion... hopefully they pay you enough for the abuse you'll receive =P. A question and a request if you don't mind:

- How does your job interact with Izzy's? Are you involved with skills and balancing, or just ironing out issues with PvP events?

- My request is, whatever you can do in your role for GW2, PLEASE don't allow the Monks (or any equivalent healer class) to be such an all-important, must-have profession in a group compared to the others. All classes in general should be of near equal importance, but there should be no essential classes at all. Defense and healing is important of course, but it just shouldn't be so centralized as it is now to where 95% of the time a Monk (or two) is required in just about all modes of the game.

Thanks! --arredondo 05:51, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

/report WORST IDEA EVER[edit]

Well in efforts to improve and revive PVP Anet has killed it for so many gamers like me. If the report command is added in its current form then I for one will NEVER pvp again in GW, will most likely not buy GW2 and probably stop playing. Why? Simply because I have played many many MMO's over the year's and griefing is always a problem, but when the company adds a way for players to intentionally grief and possibly have actions taken against thier account, then they went the wrong way about the fix. Nearly all Dial-up and many slow DSL users are the most adversely affected, but also those with slower computers, the fact that it has become near ucstom after less then 48 hrs to report SLOW loaders as leechers is wrong and stupid, some times when you have reached 100% all us know that you can sit there for awhile, mean while your avatar shows up and players end up reporting you as a leech for no reason, and if enough do it you get "dishonored." Now that in my opinion IS greifing, as defined by another player negitively impacting the play of other players. So as much as I love to AB (14mil faction BEFORE the double xfer update) I will not be getting the faction bonus this weekend, nor will I be pvping if they add this system to the game for good. Please ANet reconsider this griefing measure, as in my opinion this is a violation of your own TOS/EULA due to the fact that you will be allowing others to "grief" legitly and have them "dishonored."

Modify /resign[edit]

Hi Andrew. I'd like to make a suggestion for modifying the behavious of /resign. The dishonourable status seems to have solved the problem of leavers in RA very nicely however there are now instances of people going in with extreme tanking or running builds. Several times now i've been in a situation whereby my entire team is dead except for one person who causes zero damage but cannot be killed by the other team. We are faced with a choice - we can either leave (and become dishonourable, effectively punishing ourselves for someone elses griefing) or wait around for the match countdown to expire, sometimes as much as 6 minutes or so. This is a waste of time for both my team and our opponents. So, perhaps you could consider modifying /resign so that the entire team will forfeit a match (with no dishonourable penalty) if 3 out of the 4 members resign. Similarly, 7/8 in 8v8 arenas (although I dont think this is as big a problem there as you pick your own teams and so can avoid these people). --Cardinal Cyn 12:28, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

6 Minutes isn't that long and these occasions, at least for me, are far and few between. The modification to resign doesn't seem too bad however it does make me feel cautious of potential abuse. Dancing Gnome 06:31, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Team Arenas[edit]

If you're the one behind the gladiator/arena changes and pushing for gladiator emotes, thanks for caring about us TA players :)

He is not, see User talk:Ryan Scott, and i have not heard anything about gladiator emotes. Also, It is better if you write on this page: User talk:Andrew Patrick‎ to talk to andrew rather on this one. Coran Ironclaw 21:59, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Gladiator Title Emotes[edit]

Must I say more? Gladiator is much harder to get than Hero Title imo, so there should def. be a Emote for Gladiator Title Track.

Wrong Section[edit]

A lot of people are told to go to Andrew Patrick for talk on PvP, I know Gaile often mentions him. The problem, as demonstrated here, is that if you search for Andrew Patrick, the page which loads is this one and many people have commented on it in the same manner they would comment on his discussion page, which this is not. Perhaps remove these pages so that the search goes to the user instead? All the Arena Net staff members who's user pages I have seen are detailed enough on their role at arena net to make these pades mostly redundant. At the very least, for reasons of simplicity and effectiveness I consider this an inferior option, some kind of warning tag should appear at the top of the page, similar to the one on Gaile's talk page making it clear this is not the place to ask/expect feedback from Andrew. This option seems less effective as demonstrated by Gaile's page, while it may lessen the number of posts made which are out of place, many people don't read it and post there anyway.
